First time I tried it about a couple of years back, it crashed half way through the programme and didn’t save any progress. I tried reopening the app multiple times, but it would just say it’s loading the profile and then turn off. I wanted to give it another go, so I reinstalled and restarted the programme today. It crashed after the first hour. Tried reinstalling, but it didn’t change a thing. I wasn’t sure what that was so just in case it was more useful than what I’d already signed up for I checked it out. I discovered it was identical to what I was already signed up for, so hit cancel. A couple of minutes later I received an email saying my subscription had been cancelled. What I thought I was cancelling was a second subscription for the same thing. After lengthy discussions with support the issue could not be resolved without re registering, redoing the whole questionnaire again & paying for another free trial. When it was expiring I was sent an email to advise this was expiring and I could choose to renew etc. what was not clear was that when offering me the deals under the Apple Store I was being redirected to the Noom site where they setup a recurring payment using my Apple Pay authorisation. I believe I had not signed up for recurring and as I no longer used the app and my card had expired and I didn’t receive any further communication from Noom about my account about to expire I was completely taken by surprise when they charged me using Apple Pay on my old card. They have refused to refund the money. Incorrectly directed me to Apple who quite rightly advised this is not their issue. Beware of this. I have lodged complaint with my bank in regard to this terrible service and lack of customer support. I’ve been doing the programme for 3 months, and I’ve lost 20lbs which has brought me to my goal weight. I honestly cannot believe it as I’ve spent years trying to achieve what noom did in a matter of months! It’s not really a diet, but more of an education that changes the way you look at food and makes you more informed about your food choices. I am one very happy noomer :D Update. I am now 2yrs on from this, not only have I kept the weight off, but I’m the slimmest I’ve been since I was in my early 20’s. What’s good is that it isn’t a diet - it’s more a tool to guide your eating in a positive direction. Firstly it gives you a lot of info about eating that helps you understand why you may be struggling to achieve a healthy weight Secondly it encourages you to monitor yourself by getting on the scales everyday if that’s something you can manage. Thirdly it asks you to log your meals against your daily calorie allowance. This is great as it breaks down what you eat into 3 food groups and you quickly develop your knowledge about what foods you need to eat more of - and what should only be a treat. Finally - this holds you to account because it’s all objective information and knowledge. I was offered to try noom for 14 days for £1.00, but when I signed up I was unable to access the website/app. It kept saying they didn’t recognised my email address and log in details. I just forgot about it and decided to not trust any offers from this brand again. I week or so later I received 2 notifications from PayPal saying that they had paid Noom 2 payment of £114.00 and £39.00. I contacted Noon straight away on the advice from PayPal, and asked if they could look into this as I didn’t have a subscription with them and they have proceeded to take 2 amounts of money from 2 different accounts. They replied once asking if I had another email address which I supplied, and I haven’t heard from them in weeks. Some time after I was asked to leave feedback and I voiced my concern/issue again. I then received another email saying how sorry they are, and if I could provide more details which I did. Again, NOTHING. I don’t think I will ever see my money back and I have been advised to seek legal advice. Do your research before signing up with this company. I wish I had. It got even worse now - previously you could save your food diary while offline, now they disabled this feature. As I often filled it while riding a tube, the app became unusable to me. Shame. It just freezes when I try to save it. Until I get connection back. I was triggered by the latest update. So previously when I was entering my meals, I would randomly get some meals which I generally have at the top of the list (convenient), and randomly get previous amount of the food I chose (very convenient when you record the same amount each day). My question was why did it happen randomly and not every food started from the amount I recorded when it was the last time. After latest update it changed from randomly to never. Who is responsible for UX in your company? Should be fired on the spot for doing it. Could be ok for a free up on ad revenue.
