NoteCrypt combines strong 256-bit AES encryption, and rugged simplicity. NoteCrypt will prevent even the most determined and well-resourced attacker from accessing your notes, even if they physically possess and can unlock your device.
NoteCrypt goes to extreme lengths to secure your notes:
- Applies 256-bit AES encryption to the full notes database
- Uses the PBKDF2 key derivation and stretching function
- Does not store your password, making your notes impossible to decrypt without it
- Does not have cloud integration or login
- Does not use analytics
- Uses 'salt' to prevent 'rainbow table' attacks
- Foils 'known plaintext' attacks by encrypting big blocks of data including metadata
- Erases the in-memory copy of your notes when leaving the app
- Prevents notes showing in the app switcher
- Does not support Touch ID so as to not compromise on security
NoteCrypt also has the following usability features:
- Simple, no-nonsense design
- Provides an indicator on the strength of your password
- Allows you to change your password
- Dark themed UI
In summary, NoteCrypt works the hardest to secure your notes.

NoteCrypt Encrypted Notes Reviews
Yes, I am stupid
I like this app a lot, but one day after installing it I've forgotten the password. Yes, I know, I should have written it down. If I delete the app and then download/install it again, I'm guessing I still won't be able to get in because the app will know I'm the previous user. What if I reinstall and create the new account with a different e-mail address -- will that work? Another reviewer said he'd been in touch with the developer. How do I reach the developer? Thanks for any help.
Unable to access
I’ve had this app for a year now. I have never had an issue until now. I did a full reset on my iPhone, as I’ve done several times before. I then restored from iCloud backup, just as I always do. The problem this time is once the restore was complete, the app was on my phone like always, but when I opened it, instead of asking for the password right away like usual, it asked me to choose a password and right below it, it wanted me to confirm my chosen password, as if I was using it for the first time. Now I’m stuck and have no way to access my notes and I have no clue why or what to do about it. It’s totally frustrating, as I use the app all the time and have some important notes in there that I must have access to. But there’s absolutely no way to be able to do that. I used another encrypted notepad in the past that isn’t available anymore (which is how I ended up using this one) and I loved that app because I could put in the passphrase and the notes would pop up right away, even if I used the app on a friends phone because the notes were directly tied to the passphrase and not device info or anything like that. I don’t know if this app works by usinh device info or iCloud info or anything like that as a determining factor in whether or not you get access, but if it does, It shouldnt. And even so, this app was in my iCloud backup and always has been, so I should not be having any issues getting my access. I’ve emailed the developer. If he gets in contact with me and is able to help me with this issue and get to my notes, I will update this review accordingly.
Fast Support, Useful App
I noticed problem when I switched to iPhone 12 - reported and within hours Thomas responded with fix. I had set font size too large in Accessability.
Help
My password not working anymore
Unable to access
After about a month of not using this I try login and it shows that the password is not valid anymore. Is there a fix?
Great app!
This is a great & easy app to use for storing passwords. I would give it 5 stars if there was a way to organize the entries, like alphabetically, instead of each new entry just popping to the top of the list.
Everyone should have this app
I use this app to keep a record of my family’s login and password information, stuff that i don’t use personally, but don’t want anyone else seeing either. This is a great app. It’s simple and it works. 6 stars
As simple as it gets, but works !
This works flawlessly. I wish the author of this app could benefit monetarily from his work - I will get the paid version just to thank him - hopefully he keeps the paid version exactly the same as the free
Reliable and easy to use
Been using the app for over a year, and it does exactly what I want it to and nothing more or less. It’s basically identical to the built in notes app except it requires a password.
