Very simple, just as it’s advertised. A notepad! Would be handy, though, to maybe have numerical and numbered lists, or SOME templates of some sort. I mow that’s the opposite of a basic "notepad" app, but still. I can’t make an alphabetized, numbered list on this, and that’s fine. Just saying.

I love this app but there’s a couple of recent issues that lead me to give it one star which I hope will get the developer’s attention since, read on, I have no ther way of doing so:
Just now when I went to add a new note the + sign at top right was missing and an ad was showing at the base of the page. I was unable to dismiss the ad easily as it had a very tiny close x that my much larger finger tip could not engage. Redding where the + would have been brought up a new note entry but dismissing that took me back to the same missing + and ad.  
Ok so I thought I’ll send a bug to support but… to do that you need to have a twitter/X account which I don’t want or have. I have a screen shot of the issue and if the developer contacts me to get that I’ll gladly up the stars but otherwise here we are.

I was looking for something to remove the background text formatting that I copied from ChatGPT. When I paced the text direct to my notes, the formatting was unreadable. pasting the text to this app change the formatting better than I expected. I pasted the text to my notes and the formatting output was on point.
