Notes teacher helps you learn to read music or to improve your sheet music reading.

The "Learn" mode is composed of 32 lessons which will teach you to read music notes step-by-step. You will start with two notes. As you progress, each exercise will give you a few more notes. When you complete the lessons you will be able to read all the music notes.

The "Practice" mode allows you to specify which clef (bass or treble) you want to practice, or you can practice them both at once. You will be able to choose specific groups of notes to practice. "Practice" mode will help improve your speed and accuracy making it easier for you to read music.

As you use the app statistics accumulate, allowing it to detect and target your weaknesses. The app will customize your exercises to help you work specifically on the notes that you find more difficult.

Great for reading and ear training

I enjoy games on my iPad and I love learning music, this app combines the two. I’m an adult learner and really enjoy the challenges

The Note B

Great idea. In Level 1 if Reading left to right, it would be easier for a scratch beginner if B is right next to C just like all the other notes adjacent notes are next to each. However since B is 7 notes away this throws the learner a bit. Perhaps there could be a tiny pause between B and any other higher note. But thank you, it’s a great App for training the eye to look ahead.

Microphone recognition mode is poor

So far it doesn’t work with electric guitar, acoustic guitar or an electric violin. All are too quiet for it - especially any more on the treble clef. And at the lowest mic setting, it recognises even lingering ringing lower notes, so marks the next few notes as wrong instantly rather than waiting for a new louder note I imagine trad violin will be loud enough… but so far it seems it’s really only suitable for piano.

I’m an adult beginner. This app is exactly what I was looking for to learn how to read music. I’d recommend .

Exactly what I was looking for to learn notes when away from my keyboard

Excellent

An excellent app, easy to use and follow along. I use it both on iPad and iPhone and it works seamlessly. I connect the app to my digital piano so I can learn the notes while playing. I would highly recommend this app to learn to sight read music.

Really good learning tool

Excellent, i’m finally getting those bass clef notes into my head. However i just can’t get the microphone recognition to work at all. It just marks everything wrong.

Could be better

MIDI does not appear to work when wired to my iPad. Okay if you want to just use buttons but not if wanted to build muscle memory for an actual keyboard.

No fuss, effective learning tool

I love this app as it does exactly what I need it to do. Effective daily practice, timed, incremental difficulty. Easy to use for all ages. I started with the free version, but for a extra £1.99 you get some really useful extras. Thank you!

Fab App

I’m learning the piano & learning to read music as well as finding the notes uptakes a long time. I’m away on hols and wanted to continue learning so I don’t forget everything so this app is perfect for me to spend a few mins each day working on something since I can’t carry a piano with me
