Notesnook is an open source private notes app and organizer. It is fully cross-platform. Download it on all your devices for free. Sync notes between your computer, tablet and mobile seamlessly.

With Notesnook, note taking is a simple and easy task. Just like opening a physical notebook and writing notes down. 

A notes app to protects your privacy
With military grade encryption, no one can ever read your secret notes except you. We use XChaCha20-Poly1305 & Argon2 encryption algorithms that are stronger & safer than AES256, impenetrable & future-proof. A level of security and privacy that is rare in note taking apps.

Encrypted and private by default
You do not need to press any button or enable anything for encryption to work. Your privacy is our primary concern. By default all notes are encrypted and securely stored on our servers. We can't read or open your notes even if we want to. 

Sync notes to all devices
Sync notes in a safe and secure way. All your notes are encrypted on your device and synced so no matter what device you use, you always have access to what you write and journal in notepad.

Locked notes with vault
Double encrypt your notes with vault. Locked notes require password on open and are encrypted at rest.

Notepad & Diary with lock
A private diary with lock. App lock let's you lock notes with fingerprint and even lock the app so no one has access except you. A truly personal, safe & private diary with password so you can journal and write secret notes.

To-do lists & Tasks

Monographs allow you publish and share your notes. You can lock notes with password that you want to publish. With self destruct feature, a monograph is deleted when it is accessed once. Military grade encryption which is use to encrypt your data for syncing.

You'll never need another note taking app. This one is cross platform, has a ton of features, a reasonable subscription plan, and is fully end-to-end encrypted and open source. Their cloud sync is much more reliable than other apps I've tried. If you want to make sure your notes are secure and up-to-date, Notesnook is the app for you.

I’ve been looking for a notes app for a long time that scratches the itch I have to keep things synced and organized. I moved from Google Keep which was OK but was missing some serious organization and power. It helped a lot that Notesnook has import options for so many other note apps including Keep so I could pick right up!

Notesnook allows you to break down your notes with tags, colors, and “Journals”, syncs almost instantaneously with other devices, and has a ton of customization to make it work and look like what you want. For example, I’ve got journals I’m using to keep a daily journal, dream journal, business notes, notes from DND sessions, to-do lists, project ideas, random thoughts and observations, short comics, and there is even a vault where you can store sensitive information behind a password, like your landlord’s address when you forget it when you’re writing a check (speaking from experience)!

I found Notesnook as I was looking into self-hosting some software, seeing that they were just at the crux of finishing documentation for theirs. So if you’ve got a server, they’ve got a docker setup now (among other methods) - and you can self host it!

I ended up going for the premium instead of self hosting though to support Notesnook, as this app has so many features that I hope the team keeps improving with time and support! Definitely recommend it to anyone!

I love this app!  Started using Evernote over 20 years ago. It has grown into an over blown horribly expensive monster! So many good features have been removed and the annual cost just keeps skyrocketing. I don’t expect it to be free but for a casual note taker like me is just too much.  I don’t need to collaborate or edit pdfs. I just need to take notes.  Notesnook is my long sought after solution to Evernotes horrible user appreciation. With then you get NOTHING or you pay thru the nose to keep the notes you’ve built up over 20 years. GOODBYE EVERNOTE!!

I freaking love this app, Notesnook does not know what I write and what I do on their app (I am doing nothing illegal 😂) and that’s just perfect that I know my data won’t be sold to 3rd party companies or reviewed by Notesnook themselves.
Please keep it that way.

I wish they added folders so we can be more organized and more productive. Notesnook can be the best buddy if you are worried about your data and privacy which all of us should do, Notesnook is your go-to for privacy.
I tried their free trail for 10 minutes and got hooked then subscribed immediately, and let me say this I might stay here forever because I care about my privacy more than anything else.

My only complain is the app lacks features that can be beneficial, if they get inspirations from Notion or Anytype and copy some of their features, that would be awesome and good because it will be beneficial in the long run.

The price on this platform is just so affordable that you feel bad and hurt if you don’t subscribe.

Keep up the good work, the affordability, and the privacy is what keeps me around.

To start with, I love the user interface of this app. You can do a lot with notes organization and customization. I love the quick import options from other apps like Notability. HOWEVER, there is no way (that I can find) to do markup on PDFs in this app. I just want to open a document and do some highlights and notation with my Apple Pen (not highlight by click and drag). If that became an added feature then I would be a lifetime user. Until then I have to keep using Notability for convenience :(
