How much does NT News cost?
NT News has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is $80.99.
Today I have been told by ntnews the reason I can no longer access the NT news on the app or read online articles is because my subscription doesn’t allow it! This is despite the fact I have had full access since my digital subscription since 2017. This is fraudulent and shonky behavior by ntnews. Another way to get you to pay more. To suddenly change your subscription access without warning rings shades of fraud. This is so unprofessional particularly when there has been no communication and we have been left wondering why we can’t access digital content. Shame on you ntnews!
WAS OK
I pay a subscription and now with a recent update have advertisements repeatedly popping up. Really annoying and want to cancel my subscription.
It’s ok
Latest iteration and layout is cruddy. ‘Breaking news’ gets about one article a week and ‘world news’ consists of 85% of articles about the royal family and Meghan and Harry. Surely there is something more newsworthy across the globe. Local NT content is generally good.
Falls over
This app has recently started falling over when using the full page version of the paper
No Comics or Cartoons now - NewsCorp please listen to your readers
Just because we now read the “paper” on our smartphone, instead of a tabloid, no excuse for dropping the Funnies, esp on weekends. In Darwin, no Wicking cartoons or comics pages, to brighten a bad news day. Come on, Rupert M, lighten-up and bring them back. Or are you too busy at the races, with Gerry H from The Big Harry - who makes the NT News a store catalog, with the odd story. (Kym in Darwin)
No Communication
These comments are obviously not even read. I have made the same comments 3 times, with reply and no change. Bruce F.
I am about to cancel my subscription.
Maybe then someone will take notice of our negative our comments!
Bruce F.
Comment and Stories
The app crashes a lot which is bad. There isn’t the opportunity to comment on all stories, the ones in which you can comment seem to be selected by the paper. Also the same stories staying in the app for weeks at a time, really nothing else to report.
Keeps getting worse
The latest iteration of the NT News App has taken category headings from the menu and made them mast heads, getting rid of the previous useful categories they had. But what’s worse is that at least the first 3 of these now carry identical stories. The picture illustrations are downright capricious, for example a story on a UK politician, Johnson, illustrated with a picture of a US ex politician- Scwartznegger. Their World News and Entertainment sections carry the same stories, presumably they can’t decide which one suits the Royal Family. And of course most of that is not Journalism anyway, but simply copied from social media. Why? Surely those who are interested will find it on social media and those who are not will ignore it. Stories inviting discussion have no rhyme or reason and often the feedback section is down. When it does work it’s obvious feedback is coming from all News mastheads and not just readers of the NT News. What could be a useful sounding board for local comments is so inundated with interstate input that it is no longer of any value. The App is quickly becoming the same.
Subscription not working
It’s terrible, I’ve paid for a subscription and it won’t activate, not happy NT News!
Rip off
First they doubled the subscription charge, and I decided I wouldn’t pay that. Then they continue to charge me $3.99 a week to access....nothing! They keep taking money but they don’t give you anything for it! What a total scam this app is, do not download!
