Poor user experience and flaky

Come on Nuffield you need to get this updated so it’s more user friendly and works better. The Technogym app is far better and I’ve started using that instead now for my workouts.
The app has now decided it will not even correctly save exercises, I did a treadmill run and stair stepper yesterday and all that was saved was my ‘moves’. In order to get data to Apple Health I must connect Strava and set it to ‘auto send to apple health’ neither does it port data correctly to MyFitnessPal if at all. Given the high membership fees to Nuffield this is unacceptable. Especially when the official Technogym app worked better than this.
I’ve been a member of a Nuffield Health gym for 2 years and this app has gradually got worse over time. There appears to be zero maintenance carried out, as there have been no updates during that time. Clearly, what you need from a fitness app is something that both accurately records the amount of calories burned and what exercises you have carried out. This app does neither of those things. It frequently fails to sync with apple health or record your exercise, or worse still, it duplicates what you’ve done and doubles everything up, making it impossible to accurately track progress and achievements. The ‘records’ section of the app is hit and miss. Sometimes it records new PBs, other times it doesn’t. To make matters worse, the app frequently signs you out and crashes. It is the most unreliable app on my phone and is one of the reasons that I am now cancelling my gym membership. If Nuffield Health cannot be bothered to invest in their app and maintain it, why should I bother to remain a member of their gym? Taking my business elsewhere.
A really very poor user experience. It’s hard to know where to start: - never remembers my credentials - stalls and crashes - doesn’t read/write from Apple Health so doesn’t adapt to your actual activity levels. - seems to be a poor build on top of the Technogym app The whole Nuffield health ecosystem is poorly connected with Path data, mywellbeing data, and your own personal Apple Heath/Garmin data all failing to talk to each other when the benefit you buy into as a member is that kind of data intelligence. One wonders if a new app is in the works as with no update for nearly a year (as at April 2023) there’s unlikely to be anyone reading or acting on this feedback. If you’re a new member, I wouldn’t bother downloading this app.
My daily movement being tracked on the app is 1/2 out of 7 days, and there is no way to manually input it. All of the issues that people were experiencing with apple health are still rife. I chose a workout when I joined and it’s still there on week one even though I’ve completed it and varied it several times since. The app doesn’t have any of the classes that aren’t on a machine, and I cannot manually log things like yoga! It’s very irritating
This could be a very useful app if it wasn’t so hard to use. First of all it requires you to log on every time you open it and go through a tedious process of choosing which gym you are in every time before you can start using it. Then it has a habit of crashing out sometimes on more than one occasion part way through a session which requires you to go through the whole tedious log on process again before allowing you to resume your workout. It could be so much better.
It’s clear Nuffield has invested a lot in the Technogym machines for their gyms. However; 1) Connecting to the equipment is hit or miss. 2)The Apple Watch(series 1, 3 and 7) never connects. Infuriating because I have to default to starting a workout on my Apple Watch and not bother logging in so constant wrist checking for heart rate etc. 3)The data from Apple Health is completely ignored. 4)It doesn’t retain the previous state of your workouts - if I add sets or change weights the next time I scan the machine it only shows a default setting. Not what I last did on that machine. 5)if you’re using location data why do I need to select what gym I’m using when logging in? 6)why do I have to confirm my profile every time I login? The last time this app was updated was a year ago according to the App Store and that shows. So many unaddressed issues which clearly weren’t tested before forcing gym goers to use this app instead of the native Technogym one.
The app has so much potential but it doesn’t sync with apple health and Nuffield seems to have ditched the app for over a year. So disappointing
Literally found my gym on the map and it still wouldn’t recognise it!! Why is there 4+ Nuffield apps, what a confusing waste of peoples time. Absolutely awful design from a nationwide company.
Yeah this doesn’t data well at all. Why are you asking to use activity data from my phone and not showing any? I can’t even find the last session I tracked. It was so frustrating having to change the sets separately. I can only assume there’s pretty much no funding for this. I don’t want random workouts from other people - I want to store my programme on my phone and track whether I’ve done it or not. Surely that’s the obvious customer need?
