Description

Block annoying scammers who hide behind fake phone numbers.

Do you get unwanted calls or text messages from phone numbers similar to your own? With Number Shield, block an entire group of numbers at once. Just enter a wildcard for each digit you want to block.

For example, if your number is 714-555-1234, scammers might use a number like 714-555-6789. Block all similar numbers by entering 714-555-####. Wildcards and numbers can be combined in any order you choose. Block international numbers, too!

Use the "Allow Contacts" option to make sure you don't miss calls from your family and friends.

Block numbers directly from your phone's missed calls screen. Just follow these steps:

1. Tap the “ i ” button next to the missed call.
2. Tap “Share Contact”.
3. Tap “Block Similar Numbers”. (If you don't see this action, tap “Edit Actions...“ to enable it.)
4. Now you'll see the Number Shield number entry screen. Tap “Done” to block calls from similar numbers.

Please note:

• Each number pattern can contain up to 7 wildcards, and up to 50,000,000 phone numbers can be blocked.
• Blocked calls are sent directly to voice mail.
• Blocked text messages are sent to the “Junk” filter in the Messages app.
• iMessage messages are not blocked.
• When “Do Not Disturb” is enabled on your phone, calls that should be blocked may appear in your phone's list of missed calls.

Doesn’t block 0843 numbers

Doesn’t work won’t block 0843 numbers

Peace at last

Having been plagued with around six scam calls every day I seriously considered dumping my number. All were from an 0843 number which charged £3.20 if accidentally answered, even for one second. I religiously blocked each number to the extent it was slowing down call answering. I purchased Number Shield not expecting great results and entered 0843 plus hashes. Number Shield warned it would take a while to set up the blocking but in reality took less than two minutes to block 10,000 plus numbers. It has been three weeks and I have not received any scam calls. It really works and given me peace of mind. It created a single entry in my blocked callers list identified by reference to Number Shield. Wonderful.

Needs updating

If 0843 ### ### blocks all number beginning with 0843 then why do I still get up to six calls a day from numbers beginning with 0843? Not helped me. Good luck.

Fabulous little app

Thrilled with this and amazed at how many millions of numbers it’s able to block. If you’re in the UK, remember to knock the zero off the beginning and add 44 instead.

Not blocking spam messages

Bought this app to block spam text messages and it does not work Not expensive but a complete waste of money. Does not even put them in the “unknown” folder Contacted support a few times, still not working

Worked a treat

I’m in the UK and was getting up to 6 scam calls a day from a number in London that started with the same 6 numbers, but where the last 4 digits changed each time. Because it was always a slightly different number, the in-built number block was useless. After a bit of research, I found this app. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if it would work, let alone in the UK, but it’s brilliant! I haven’t had a call from them since. It’s really easy to set up and so would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to block a particular range of numbers. Worth every penny 🤩

Great concept and works well

The app and concept is great. Easy to set up and use. For those in UK you need to add UK country code and drop 0 from number range. Took me a while to work this out. Once you have done this those irritating calls which change the last 3 digits every time you block one just stops.

Works as I wanted it to

I’ve been receiving calls from a range of numbers that share the same 5 digits, and wanted to block all numbers that have that prefix. To do it on the phone, I’d have needed to enter each of the million variations which drove me to see which clever folks have solved the problem. You did. Within seconds of installing the app, and by following the wildcard instructions to block ranges, 1 million numbers blocked within a minute.
