If you have an older device e.g. iPad Pro 9.7, that technically easily has the performance to run the game you can’t, because of the way it is designed/coded by the NYT programmers. The web based code forces the installed app to open and installed app says it can’t run because it forces you to update. Then update doesn’t want to run because it says my OS is old (really just chosen to be unsupported). I’m not going to buy a new iPad just to play Wordle. Amazing how other games with higher performance demands can continue to work fro other developers.

The app has not worked for several months for reasons provided by many other reviewers - it requires an “upgrade” to IOS 18 or higher despite running IOS 26. Trying to get a refund for the last three months but support is not available. Insane. This on top of the fact that the content has become increasingly parochial (so in all respects in line with the general direction of things in the US it seems - an inward collapse). Quite ready to ditch it for all these reasons but meantime - pay back what you’ve stolen!
