I have been subscribing to the times for more than a decade. This app sucks. It is not easy to navigate to find articles. But the worst part of is that when an article is being read and I turn to something else and go back to the app, it returns to home. I usually have to search the article again, or save the article before start reading it. Annoying app.
I find the digital version of NYT less user friendly than the Washington Post, Economist or FT. This is annoying for me, because I regard the NYT essential.
My NYT subscription has enriched my life. I needed to cut down on other online news sites.
A great app to keep me informed. Easy to find stories and easy to read.
The Times does a wonderful job of informing you—until politics is involved. When it comes to political things, the paper only focuses on the negative aspects of conservatives and the right. Somehow the liberals manage to escape examination and any of their negative behavior is minimized. The current election is a great case in point. For the last several months, this paper could have legitimately been named “The Anti-Trump Times,” while Harris’ word salads, flip-flops and running from real press interviews were all politely ignored. That the Letters to the Editor comments evidence a monolithic liberal readership shows just how unbalanced coverage is.

タブレットやスマホで読んでいて、画面を拡大できないのが信じられないです。老眼の人や、視覚に障害のある人、写真を拡大して詳細に見たい人がいることを想像していないのですか？ スマホ自体の設定で文字のサイズの拡大することを案内していますが、ほかのアプリの文字サイズには影響を与えたくないんです。それに結局、画像は拡大できないし。 ブラウザでNYタイムズのウェブサイトにアクセスすると画面の拡大可能なので、私にとっては、このアプリを使って新聞紙面を読むことはもうないように思います。

The app allows you to easily see what are viewed to be the top stories, and the articles are well presented. Persistent login allows fast access. But it’s not as full-featured as the web site and it can be difficult to pick out articles that are part of a recurring series for example. Unfortunately this is another case of “download our app for a worse version of our website!”
