Forgot to turn off the office computer? No need to get up. Want to stop the kid's marathon computer sessions? Do it remotely. The timer function lets you set Off to trigger up to 24 hours in the future so you can set a computer to automatically turn off after a task such as completing a download or upload or to automatically lock at a certain time to limit a child's screen time. If you want to know whether the computers in your house are turned off - you can check from your iDevice. If you use a computer to stream videos or audio to your living room, then you can turn it off when you are finished without getting out of the sofa. If you forget to turn things off at night then you can turn them off from wherever you are in the house. It's simple to use. It's very handy. However, there was a couple of issues in recent months but Support have not got back to me despite promising to do so, making the app effectively useless for me. You have to input your computer details manually including the MAC address and make sure your bios is won enabled. It works for me but may not work for you which is why it's hidden away. Quote from the creator; "Off Remote does actually have Wake On Lan functionality. I don't advertise the fact as I don't want to deal with support queries where people potentially have to tweak the BIOS on their PC. Equally, I don't want to get bad reviews from users who expect the functionality, then find it difficult or impossible to get it working. If you're willing to accept that WOL might not work, then you can enable it fairly simply. Just add your computer manually from the settings page (this requires you to know what an IP address is). In future, when your computer isn't on, then you can tap on the blue arrow and access the WOL functions. When you set up the saved remote, you should make sure that your computer _is_ on with the Off Remote helper running.
