Bad timing for Curt to move to Lippert.

Lippert Hater on

I m on vacation 5 hrs. from home and I went to install my echo and start it with my phone and guess what! Lippert takes over and I can’t log in to my echo. I followed the directions from Lippert on how to install their program and again, guess what! When I get to the place where it says agree to the terms, I pushed to agree and nothing happened! Think I’ll go have a regular brake controller installed on my truck. Thanks for screwing up my trip home Lippert. Just as bad as your slide mechanisms on my former 5th wheel with the too small of motors you used!!!

This app is horrible

jaedwrds on

This app has made our echo brake controller unusable. Even the slightest application of the car brake makes the trailer brakes grab and let go and then grab really hard as you apply the brake more. I have it set up the same as it was in the old app. I even brought the sensitivity down. No change. Stay away!!

Deleting from my phone.

This must be spyware. Not only that after downloading (forced to or it won’t work!) I no longer have the Curt button function. The app fails which is dangerous. The new company knows these issues exist as noted by their robot responses but still no problems have been corrected. Stay away from this ! I’m headed out to have a traditional brake controller installed. P.S.- it won’t track me.

Very buggy app

It’s one thing after another with this app. I don’t even know where to start other than to say, had I known this was gonna be as much of a hassle as it is, there’s no way I would’ve bought this. I have to continually re-download the app because it freezes up, usually when I’m traveling and don’t have time to fool with it. Upon login, it displays the upper half of the entered password making it impossible to see if you’re typing it in correctly. I could keep going. WTF… I thought Lippert was a large and established corporation. After dropping $350 I’m stuck with it…

Horrible App that makes the device useless

Thelarsons94 on

Horrible app. I have spent a week problem solving with customer service and still will not pair to the Curt Echo Brake Controller. I activate pairing and then it says device found but doesn’t show anything to actually BT connect too. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling over 10x. Restarted my iPhone several times. Spoke to customer service and they are not help. Horrible app and customer support resulting in the device useless.

Why!

Seriouz1 on

Had zero issues with the app for several years. Then forced to change to an app that forgets profiles. A million pop up warnings. Why change something that wasn’t broken?!?

Works as it should

Macdog$76@$(:/ on

At first I was concerned when I set this up because I was getting a message that the controller was not found after pairing. But once a trailer was connected, everything worked fine. Yeah, it’s a little annoying that the Bluetooth connection has to renegotiate anytime the app is not in focus, but it reconnects quickly enough. The controller continues to operate and trailer brakes still work under the last known settings.

Worked fine for two years, manufacturer pushed this update, now my $300 controller is a paperweight.

jayratch on

What is there to say? It simply does not work. It was working fine until the Kurt echo brake controller app automatically updated and stopped working, just giving me a screen that says to download this app. This app doesn’t work, it just won’t acknowledge the Bluetooth connection. There doesn’t seem to be any way to fix it. The app cannot be connected to the brake controller because it won’t connect to Bluetooth, and there is literally no troubleshooting process, the app just will not touch Bluetooth and there’s no way to bypass it. no apparent pathway to customer service either. So I guess I’m just out the value of this thing and stuck on the side of the road because of a stupid unwanted unnecessary software update.

What the heck happened?

nickname taken trying again on

I only recently got the Echo, and the app, though I wasn't thrilled with it, was at least working. Now that I'm trying to use the controller for the first time in a few weeks, something has gone wrong. Proportional braking works (applies brakes) ONE time after I open the app and connect. After that, nothing. The circular brake application meter does not activate and brakes don't seem to work at all! And no notice of dropped Bluetooth connection. I guess it could be a hardware problem, but given the reputation of this app, it seems the most likely culprit. And Curtis is ruining the reputation of a once well regarded product by passing it off to this flawed app. Very disappointing.

Worst ever

Cynthia in Denver on

Awful horrible worst ever! Curt worked perfect every time. The warnings pop up over the screen with the connect button and adjustment controls, then goes back to Home Screen. Unable to connect. Unable to adjust settings. For an hour I have been trying to connect it. Awful horrible DANGEROUS! Now it won’t connect to Bluetooth even though my phone has it shown connected. This app is RUINING our trip.
