Good idea, some issues
The app doesn't let you do anything as an individual, if you’re not doing this with a company you can’t do it at all which is incredibly disappointing

I really love this app. I joined with our company and it makes it so easy to volunteer. I was not aware of many of these opportunities and On Hand makes it easy to find and keep track of what you have done. I especially love the bespoke missions, which are easy to set up, so you can log volunteering not listed and set up repeat missions. Our office even has a mission for donations to various charities. I especially love the phone calls for people, it’s such a great way of volunteering and means you can participate wherever you are. Planting trees for completed missions is just the cherry on top. I am looking forward to seeing even more opportunities come to On Hand!
Hi very sad to say that when I am trying to register it asks me to put a password in every password I put in says it’s not okay I have tried lots and still not letting me
OnHand was introduced to us as part of a company initiative to drive CSR, as such the training and awareness prior to use was great. The app is easy to use and quite intuitive. There is a wide variation of tasks you can undertake, all called ‘missions’ and there is something for everyone. There are easy ‘missions’ for those just starting on their environmental and sustainability journey (like turning your heating down by 1’c or putting your washing through at 30’c), ranging to more complex and time consuming ‘missions’ (volunteering or setting up local drives). The range in levels of ‘missions’ gives you goals to aim for. The only downside, and the reason I have not given 5 stars, is that you are encouraged to upload photos to support the completion of your ‘mission’. I have no issue doing this for most of the missions but feel uncomfortable that the app asks you to upload photos for ‘missions’ like speaking to a homeless person, taking a meal to an elderly person (and others). While not uploading a photo for those ‘missions’ doesn’t stop you completing them or getting the points, it just feels a little off and against the ethos of doing good and the right thing for the right reason- not for social media.
This app is a great idea and I enjoy getting involved. I would appreciate a few technical enhancements including: a search bar for missions, and being able to set up my own teams league table.
We’re rolling out the OnHand app as part of a wider company initiatives around ESG and it’s great to have a way to do good that works for a remote team!
Really well laid out, easy to navigate, and gets you up and volunteering - something very important!
Writing this with the intent for the dev side to look into app crashing when going through the sign-up process. I heard about the app and tried to signup two times, both times crashed as I input my email address.
I joined this network through my company and initially made companionship calls through lock down talking to people feeling isolated and lonely but on hand has grown so much since then with some amazing insights and opportunities to do more and be more for our society, love it!
Really easy to navigate and use. Glad I’m able to do my part through my job to help others
