The user experience on Opay app is great. Everything works smoothly. However, I wonder why the company is not formally launching this wallet and why the management seems less interested in this opportunity despite buying EMI license for millions of dollars. For example, the messages and promos on the app are outdated and not valid anymore. There is an option to order a debit card but customer support (who rarely respond on chat and often with pathetic English) says that they don’t have blank plastic cards, so can’t issue the debit cards. For customers who mistakenly pay for this, they can offer a refund. Despite this, Opay social media keeps promoting the non-existent debit cards. Notably, there is no marketing beyond posting few messages on their own social media pages. I believe, Opay has a huge opportunity to compete with the likes of Sadapay and Nayapay, but they are not yet ready to ride the boat. I believe, they will sell their license after some time or SBP may revoke it.
