## OpenVPN Connect Description
OpenVPN Connect is the official OpenVPN client app developed by OpenVPN Inc., the creators of the OpenVPN® protocol. Designed for use with OpenVPN’s zero-trust business VPN solutions, this app enables secure remote access to internal networks, cloud resources, and private applications. A zero-trust VPN is a virtual private network that requires continuous identity and device verification for every access request, adhering to the principle of 'never trust, always verify,' regardless of the user's location.


IMPORTANT NOTE:
This app does NOT include a built-in VPN service. It establishes an OpenVPN tunnel to a VPN server or service that is compatible with the OpenVPN protocol. It is meant for use with OpenVPN’s business Zero-trust VPN solutions:

All was great on older iOS versions. It will only work on the first initial loading of the app. After you close it, it will not load again until a reboot.

Update: after deleting the vpn profile and import the import, the app work properly again.

Same client config will work just fine on a a PC. However on IOS with identical config, client will connect to server, but just sits idle. No communication.

Doing further troubleshooting, it looks like the IOS version of OpenVPN receives but silently ignore ROUTE directives for some reasons. So a tunnel gets established, but the iPad doesn’t know what to do with it, so no traffic flows through that tunnel.

I confirm that an identical client config works just fine on a PC, with the Windows version of OpenVPN client. 

That hints me that your IOS client is buggy and needs fixing.  It used to work fine (last year in 2023) , but it’s frustrating to discover that it’s not functional… while on travel… :(

I have my  openvpn server at home, every time I come home I have to remember to turn the app off to be able to connect to my wifi. Else my phone stay on LTE.
WireGuard app has the option to exclude some SSID ; “connection on demand “. So it’s disconnect automatically when the wifi ssid listed is detected.
