Optimity: Health & Rewards

I was a Carrot reward user before this replaced it, even paid for premium. I get my 6,000 steps everyday but the point multiplier (1x - 5x) doesn’t always reflect that. It will bring me back down to the lowest point multiplier even though I got my steps in. I’ve brought this up the developers on several occasions both last year and this year. Still can’t fix it. I also can’t do anything with my points. I have over 100,000 and can’t redeem for gift cards after the latest “update”. Before I could redeem 10,000 points for a $5 gift card, then they increased it to 20,000 for $5. Now there’s a bidding system and the points are way over 30,000 to get $5. Lastly, I was supposed to get a tshirt for being beta testers. But the shirts were only available on 2 days in downtown Toronto. They will not ship it out, so for those who are not GTA residents we’re SOL. This app will go down just like Carrot did and that’s sad because there is so much potential but the developers just don’t seem to care.

This app used to be good when it was called Carrot. I originally downloaded it when Scean partnered with them but they changed the way you get rewards to the point it’s not even worth anything. Now you have to put your Gems up for a chance to win the points and gift cards instead of set price. I liked it much better when it was a set price 4000 gems used to get you 1000 Petro points now you might need 7000-11000 or more just to get the same amount.

Other than never being able to use my points to buy Amazon gift cards 😖😫, the point system obviously has flaws. Contacted them multiple times about the 2X daily bonus &hourly bonuses. Don’t always do the hourly, do n’t live on my phone lol, but always get kicked out with no points when I do. They do get back to me, but only give me 50 points. Obviously just trying to keep me happy. Like the app only because it keeps me accountable for being active :) Other than that it sucks

Nobody likes an auction where more of your points are used that is if u still have enough to qualify for a reward that is so low. No you are not listening to your users and improving the app and spare me your generic response!

You guys really said, “we listened to you! Here’s gift cards available by auctions.” No. No one wanted auctions. This is terrible. We aren’t guaranteed anything.

The downside is the rewards are not motivating enough, should have more rewards choices eg Shell gas and Airmiles from Safeway . Thank you for listening. Hello, why are we using our points for auctioning rewards? It’s ridiculous to fight for the rewards that we earned so hard. Why can’t we just have a straight way of redeeming our rewards? Have more sponsors like Canadian Superstore, Safeway, T&T, Shoppers Drug Mart & London Drugs . Thank you for listening.

I’ve been a longtime Carrot and then Optimity user, but this app has gotten worse and worse and I think I’ve finally hit my limit with it. Having to “bid” for gift cards at over 3x the value of what they were a couple years ago is ridiculous. They’ve managed to devalue the incentives so much that this app is useless now. Optimity team - you guys really need to go back to the drawing board. No one needs a new step counter because your phone already does it for you. Please rethink what your value add is because your engagement is going to start to plummet if it hasn’t already.
