OS Maps Reviews

Not as advertised

This app is completely useless and BS. It just takes to other map apps eg. Apple maps, Google maps. Pointless

Very nearly brilliant but search functionality is poor

I’ve been a long time (and very happy) subscriber to and user of OS Maps. It’s nice to see that it’s added 3D functionality at last, and that’s probably indicative of where it sits in the marketplace; other apps may develop quicker and offer more bells and whistles, but when OS Maps does catch up those features normally perform well. But there’s a “but”, and it’s a big one for me - when researching places off the beaten track, the search functionality is woeful. Even for common places, performance is slow and suggestions unhelpful/inaccurate, and for more offbeat locations it lags massively behind something like OutDoors GPS. So, please, Ordnance Survey, improve this and you can have at least an extra star, or possibly two.

Now useless

Unable to plot5 a route since update, it’s gradually got worse on every single update!

December 2024 and the useful functions have ceased to operate.

When OS first put up an app it was useless. It later became quite useful even if a bit clunky. It has become useless again.

Great app to find new trails

Love this app places near home we never knew existed. Easy to use my go to navigation app for walking

Is this a new record?

This morning I opened the app in an area which is downloaded on my phone. I was simply shown a black screen with the position marker in the centre. This persisted for over TWELVE MINUTES before it changed to a blank white screen, followed a minute or two later by the map I had been waiting for! Are the developers really this incompetent, or are they just having a laugh at our expense?
