Totally unusable

This looked like the perfect app for what I needed. I spent a few hours downloading maps and learning the various tools and was really looking forward to using it on my motorcycle, as soon as my wheels started turning the app crashed, I reloaded it and tried again and it crashed before I’d even changed out of first gear, I gave up. Also, when setting a widget at the bottom of the screen layout it caused all the screen buttons to overlap making them unusable and I’d often get a big solid orange banner across the top of the screen reducing the map area. Disappointing and deleted.

Didn’t Work and Difficult to Use

Immediately after downloading the app there were problems, the map was blank with no streets shown as I zoomed in. There were no prompts or help from the app with it’s difficult to navigate UI and unexplained options. Furthermore, there is no satellite view either, at least not that I could find - perhaps I should have searched for the documentation online and scrutinised it for hours to find this. This is just really bad. They expect the user to do hours of research to figure out how to use a basic maps app. Every other maps application just works straight away.

Crashes when trying to navigate

So i have used this before and it was ace, but i have been messing with this now and getting fed up. When i try to navigate it keeps crashing and exiting the app. This is very frustrating and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but mo luck. I hope it gets sorted soon…

CarPlay needs some work

This is a good all rounder. The ability to create profiles and add vehicle dimensions sets it apart from some of the competition and is useful for motorhome owners. It would be good to be able to customise the screen in CarPlay more, the competitors have the edge in this area. Live traffic doesn’t seem to exist / display on the map. Switching between this and TomTom whilst driving really highlighted this. For me, CarPlay is how I use my sat nav apps so unless improvements are made in this area and Live Traffic I won’t be renewing my subscription.

When I d to open it on my CarPlay .. I am told I must buy a pro version - clearly the freeware map is only for use on your phone and who needs that ! Useless - Back to good reliable and free Google maps !

Useless

Cannot find a postcode that I know exists. App gives alternative suggestions but refuses to acknowledge a simple postcode in Altrincham, hardly an obscure area.

Fabulous example of Open Source

I’m a huge fan of OsmAnd. I’ve been using it for a few months now, mainly for navigation on my motorcycle on green roads and dirts tracks in Europe and North Africa. I love that it is both extremely configurable to my needs and has an active community who collaborate on making constant improvements. The more I get involved, the greater I can ensure the app meets my needs. Thank you!

Bugs and annoying popups

Too buggy. Keeps nagging me to download maps when I just want to use online tiles. The open street map online tiles disappeared for me for a few months. Centering on my location no longer works. The app keeps opening with the map rotated. I just want north to be always up
