Description
OsmAnd is an offline world map application based on OpenStreetMap (OSM), which allows you to navigate taking into account the preferred roads and vehicle dimensions. Plan routes based on inclines and record GPX tracks without an internet connection.
OsmAnd is an open source app. We do not collect user data and you decide what data the app will have access to.

• Choice of places to be displayed on the map: attractions, food, health and more;
• Search for places by address, name, coordinates, or category;
• Map styles for the convenience of different activities: touring view, nautical map, winter and ski, topographic, desert, off-road, and others;
• Shading relief and plug-in contour lines;
• Ability to overlay different sources of maps on top of each other;
GPS Navigation
• Plotting a route to a place without an Internet connection;
• Customizable navigation profiles for different vehicles: cars, motorcycles, bicycles, 4x4, pedestrians, boats, public transport, and more;
• Change the constructed route, taking into account the exclusion of certain roads or road surfaces;
• Customizable information widgets about the route: distance, speed, remaining travel time, distance to turn, and more;

• Plotting a route point by point using one or multiple navigation profiles;

• Manage GPX tracks: displaying your own or imported GPX tracks on the map, navigating through them;

Very hard to learn to use.
Crash after update
Osm is constantly crashing after updated and I can’t use it anymore 😕 Crash crash ☹️
Search
5/10/2024. The iOS version still does not have turn by turn instructions 12/20/2023 I wish the app had turn by turn directions on iOS. I noticed it is available on Android. Other than that it is a great app.
Could Be Better
I love the concept of the app, however it under delivers in crucial aspects. If I want to navigate to a city, not an address, it simply cannot do it. You can’t even select just the road, you have to do a numeric address too. Literally every other navigation app can navigate you to a city without specifics.
How to update offline maps?
Can't find that option.
Last Update is horrible
You still haven’t made updates to Car Play functionality that people have been begging for and now the app keeps crashing. Since the update, when running on my phone and in Car Play the map keeps “recalculating” every 1-2 seconds and then eventually crashes after 30-60 seconds. I’ve even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the entire app.

Went to the greedy subscription-only model
I don’t waste my money on “software as a service”, and now this app is one of those. It seems the developers have let their greed get the better of them and are now only offering subscriptions, instead of allowing us to pay once.
