This is a horrible experience. I linked it to my Google account. When I first used my Google account to join an interview, it aumotically recorded the whole process without getting the permission from everyone. We didn’t notice it is being recorded. Then it sent a interview summary to everyone attends that interview under my name without asking!! Email Topic: xx Shared a Meeting Summary via Otter.ai. Then I received a call from HR. Don’t download it.
Doesn’t transcribe properly.
Useless. Baffling. Doesn’t transcribe properly at all. Also limited on how many minutes you can transcribe. Wouldn’t have bothered me if it worked. But most of what it transcribes is gibberish.
90 minute rule?
I am a paid subscriber but I keep getting messages saying I need to upgrade if I want to see the transcription past 90 minutes can you explain why? It’s an expensive choice if you want to record 2 hour plus meetings and only get 90 minutes! I wont be renewing

I need an app that can write a transcript of a lecture from youtube does otter ai do so? Because I could find that option

Best transcriber app and best value
2024 04 update, some glitches but they're being fixed : I always download the first transcript and use it to replace any paragraphs that disappear - it's being looked at...otherwise still the best transcriptiom service out there. Very pleased and constantly getting better. Learns and can get premium even by recommendations...so tell everyone! This feels like the future of a whole new media style...Read and listen simultaneously. Great service.
Deeply disappointed as I can get no response from them
I am furious that I’ve invested money in this program and for the life of me I can’t get it to work properly. If only there was a way to find out how to edit what’s been written down life would be much much easier. I wonder if anybody reading this at Otter.AI will be very kind and telephone me or allow me to ring them in America so that I can understand how to get the most out of this. Useful, but…
Otter have produced a useful tool to record events, meetings etc. In theory at the end you should have an audio track and a set of words which represent roughly what was said. I’m surprised, how often reading the transcript, it makes no sense so I have to play the recording to understand; this takes a lot of valuable time. Also, twice now I’ve depended on the recording, and found it’s not there at the end. Try to avoid this being your only record of an important meeting because you may just be let down. One positive, although the transcription is mediocre much of the time, it’s way better than Microsoft’s dictation system (on a Mac). Since I wrote the above, Otter have massively increased their prices and reduced the number of minutes’ transcription they provide. All in all it’s not worth it any more; I shall not renew.
My microphone stopped recording while it was on !!!!
Really disappointed!!! The app said that my microphone was not connected while it seems working fine. I did not reset any settings and not sure what happened !!! Glad I have quickly recorded the meeting with voice app
