Overcast

After a botched update last year (2024), some of the important functions were restored. However, the app continues to be buggy and frequently hangs when downloading or streaming the next episode in the queue. It also seems that on iOS 18.2, shortcuts are still broken. You can no longer set a shortcut to play a specific playlist, And the existing shortcuts set before often fail to work.

Long time subscriber. Since the new version, the app has many strange behaviors and bugs. The most unacceptable one is abrupt termination of playing!! Several times now, when I play podcast in overcast, either in foreground or background, the podcast just stop. If I start that episode again, it will start play from beginning. Isn’t playing podcast the major task this app is doing? Not to mention the app will pull many old (maybe played) episodes into my playlist and put in on top of the list, which is sorted by date as newest on top! The app maybe improving , slowly , after the major update, but really slowly!

Overcast was my favorite podcast app. But it has been glitchy and jerky for months on my iPhone. I’ve had no problems with any other app so … is it just me?

…. However, new episodes since Feb. 5th don’t show up anymore what happened??! I checked my phone storage & there’s still plenty of it. Besides I haven’t touched any setting for a long time. Someone know how to fix that really appreciate some help I can’t live on w/o all my favorite podcast’s new episodes 😭😭😭 …… (I don’t know if it has anything to do w/ the new rule “any playlists getting over 1500 episodes would stop the function of MANUAL SORTING & PRIORITY PODCASTS …. But I don’t see our dear Mr. developer mention anything about STOPPING THE UPDATE ON NEW EPISODE, whhhhyyyy???) ……… P.S. Besides why can’t go over 1500 episodes, ??? …. my old phone w/o new updates went over 1500 episodes a long time ago w/o major problems occurring except short freeze & occasional APP meltdown restart. …. I’d imagine new phone can handle such even better. 🤔🤔 ……… P.S.S. I'd love to sort away listened episode but just like many ppl out there I DON’T HAVE THE TIME 🥲🥲 besides it would be nice to quickly check up the episodes’ title to have that sweet nostalgia feeling to see what I’ve listened to all these time I bet our dear developer must can understand being a fellow podcast lover!!🥲

Is it possible to bring "next episode" and "next chapter" back? I used the function a lot before but found them disappear in the latest version....
