What is Ownit?
Ownit is an automatic “owner management” app that allows you to easily add and keep track of all the things you own. More than a simple inventory management app, Ownit allows you to add something to your Stash as easily as taking a few photos. And once the photos are submitted, your product is automatically identified and all pertinent information that’s vital to your product ownership is provided to you! Support numbers, website and product manual links, social media links, how-to videos, and more! All without the tedious typing!

What products can I add?
Ownit was primarily designed to keep track of things that you purchase. It can identify almost anything that has a manufacturer and model number. While you COULD use it to keep track of all your handmade wooden bowls, the auto-identifying feature won’t be very helpful.

Crashes constantly in IOS 14

No updates in a year (likely has been abandoned)

Needs the ability to SKIP serial number capture/entry
Lacks basic UX features like
* slide to delete
* Push and hold to get pop up menu of choices, like product info

I was looking for an inventory app that had a comprehensive list of functions.  While the app works well on iPhone and iPad, you have to purchase an upgraded app to download the data to a spreadsheet on a workstation.  I’ll continue to look for another app or develop my own.

Just downloaded to my iPhone. Opened the app. Start taking pictures of electronics. Overall picture, logo picture, and serial numbers. It started to find the item. Never stop circling, never found, never logged in.... Waist of my time!

Concept for the app is cool - it does not work in practice. The app will change manually entered data to the closest match (I guess) that it can find - my new toshiba 4K tv was changed to "Apple tv" after a few weeks - I had 5 other items that were changed as well - it even overwrote price paid on a few items. Not exactly something that can be relied on for say insurance purposes.

### **--- "Acts weird, delayed imports"
This is a good idea. It recognizes your items based on a photo. Sweet. After it identifies them, that original description can change, and become random text that someone else entered, apparently. It correctly logged my dell laptop, I went to bed and woke up to the name changed to 'asd a s' and the serial number I had entered manually was overwritten. Weird. Deleted it after that. I don't want to spend time entering everything in to see it randomly change later.
