Oz weather radar allows you to view the BOM (Bureau of Meteorology) weather radar information located through Australia. Each radar image can be panned and zoomed to get a better look at the area you are interested in. Approximately 50 radars cover a large proportion of Australia to bring you the most up to date weather information.

The information cycles through the last few images so you can get a good look at what is happening around you.

All views show the latest feeds directly from the BOM web site. Dedicated weather watch radars provide the most up to date weather information every 10 minutes and in some cases every 6 minutes.

You can also view the last 6 hours of satellite cloud imagery that is taken every hour on the National view.

Use to love this on my iPad, but crashes every time. Come on, one job people

Needs a major overhaul

Used to be great. Now can’t even load radar images without crashing. Spend your $$$ elsewhere.

Needs fixing

Buckland park radar image is unusable don’t bother

Crashing and needs updating

App is continually crashing. Time for a new weather app I think! App hasn’t been updated for a long time. Time to step it up.

Not worth $3.

This has less functionality than the free version in that I can’t see a way to change the radar range. Also the Help link is broken. Waste of money.

Why did it go black?

After working well for years, the map backgrounds have all suddenly gone black??

BEST “TIME” SIZE IVE EVER for old eyesight

Any chance to add an indicator ON THE DAY OF FULL MOON? AND ANOTHER OF NEW MOON? EXPLANATION-:- they are all there but without trained eye who heck would know FULL MOON OR NEW MOON? Anything even N For new moon and F for full? Used a lot of years. For me using an American site is unusual as rarely do American sites that address all Australian needs. This one is close. I appreciate now my eyesight is poor that the TIME feature gets first position for my eyes as it’s exceptional with a size that’s readable by even poorest eyes

I have been using the oz radar light for over five years and it has been very reliable. I’ve just purchased the full version and the tiles are a good way of having multiple views of the same place or creating an extended map around your location. I’ve noticed there’s a few bugs when moving down the menu structure and the app has crashed once or twice while I was configuring. A big concern is data privacy and security and I trust the developer will address this issue as soon as possible. Noting the last version upgrade of the software was a long time ago. Overall, I’m giving this app 4 stars based on my consistent 4 - 5 times a day use of Oz Radar lite and my limited use of the paid app. If the paid app is anything like the lite, it will continue to be my go-to weather radar app.
