I'm unsure what I just paid for.   The maps don't have waypoints.   They really only give me mileage for a section.   The map is not helpful for navigating waterways and absolutely useless for rapids.   It doesn't even list rapids on the maps.   Only sometimes it will give current flow rates. Most times I've needed information it just list conditions not available.  May want to save your money. Wish there were better apps for river running.

I got the premium plan and now have buyers remorse.  The app keeps freezing up and I can’t even explore the app to understand its functionality. I’ve deleted and reinstalled it. No joy! Also, it suggests there’s information about rivers, but what if you paddle lakes too? I had to exit the app and just google water temperature, wind and weather conditions for a lake I plan to paddle today because I couldn’t get it from the app. Useless!

I really wanted this app to work but after installing 1/2 my screen was obscured with a pop up saying “Are you ready to explore” but there is no way to make this disappear and actually explore. After one day the “are you ready to explore” screen appeared to have gone away and I tried to start adding rivers and other points of interest. Despite allowing the app to use my current location, it immediately relocated to Montana (I’m in Ohio) and froze. I can’t navigate anywhere within the app.

I bought the app for planning Whitewater trips, but I found it to be bordering on useless. It somehow fails to show River miles in the app, opting for a measuring feature that will show distance between two points you choose, but doesn’t show the actual river mileage. Paddling in the northwest, I’ll be continuing to use soggy sneakers rather than this app.

With so much private land, it’s sometimes difficult to find access.  With Paddleways I found a sweet public launch (with a floating dock) hidden away behind a nondescript gravel parking lot.  You’d never know it was there. It gave me access to some fantastic fishing areas.  Worth it for that alone.  Cheers!

I’m a Canoe and Kayaker and 4 months into the PaddleWays app. I am often in search of new waterways to paddle and details are important to me. The app has the ability for users to upload pictures of rapids or route details and even vehicle shuttle options however, there is very little information. Also would be nice to see other common routes that people take. Tidal schedule is something that Im constantly looking up, would be nice if the app had a tool for that.
