PADI FAQ
Is PADI free?
Yes, PADI is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is PADI legit?
🤔 The PADI app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
I haven’t been in this app in 5-10 years and it’s just as bad as it once was. I went into a cert that I didn’t have a card for. The buttons for purchase eCard and replace cert card literally do nothing. There’s no error message, no screen refresh, etc. might as well click any random part of the screen. Log book and certs aren’t available offline, as if people are only diving in major metro areas. How about offline mode with a sync option for later? (Don’t even get me started on the fact that PADI charges over $50 for an eCard, which is same price as physical card. I know that’s not an app issue but I’m throwing it out there anyway.) Horrible all around.
How does the worlds largest scuba org have such a bad app?
pretty minimal functionally. When it works. If it works right. The most glaring issue is that it is wildly inconsistent on displaying certs. Sometimes it shows all of them, sometimes some of them, other times none of them. The logging feature is pretty minimal without any sort of means to sync it to a dive computer or upload dive profiles. There’s not a feature to make custom checklists, track equipment service cycles, track renewal dates like with BLS/CPR/EFR, etc. A social meet up aspect would be cool too. considering PADI is the largest scuba agency in the world I expect more, but minimal consistent functionality is still lacking.
Keeps logging me out.
It keeps having a technical difficulty and exiting me out of my app. It could be user issue also so I will retry for the fourth time! Hopefully whoever gets this laugh really hard.
Works fine
App works fine. Diving is awesome.
Worthless
-My loved dive’s aren’t there
-My e-cards aren’t there
-My courses aren’t there
-None of the links work
- All it’s good for is hand signals and knots lol
5/100
Great app
Works great, no issues! Love that it logs dives with an ecard.
Convenient Cert Lookup
I'm glad PADI fixed the certification display problem. Now I can see my certs. When I log into my account.
Negril
Had the most superb instructor. Sanjay. Will keep coming because of his kindness and talent
Logbook doesn’t work
I feel like being able to log your dives would be a pretty basic function, but I can’t seem to get it to work with this app. It seems that you cannot save a log entry unless you can find an official name for the dive site in the search function, but there don’t seem to be any dives actually listed (at least, not in French Polynesia where I live). As a result I generally can’t save any dives in the first place. In addition, the few dives I managed to save have disappeared from the app; now it says that no dives have been logged. So you’re better off using a piece of paper or even the “Notes” section in your phone if you actually want to log dives.
Everybody loves PADI!
This app is super easy to use & log dives! Rocket Frog Divers in Coco Beach, Costa Rica is THE best diving experience! I just completed my Advanced Open Water & I can’t wait to come back! HUGE shoutout to Charlie & the rest of the team!
