Paper: Sketch, Draw & Create

How do i turn off the horrible ‘convert to text’ and ‘export’ buttons right over the page that I’m creating on? URGH! So annoying! And stop trying to sell me Evernote! You are really pissing me off…. Plus it’s glitchy now where it used to not be. I create a book, select cloud back up as storage and then it locks the book in as is condition. Can’t export, can’t add new pages. ALSO - 3 IDEAS….. 1. Ability to stack or change order of notebooks (you could use same UI as the paper store) 2. Ability to resize content 3. Ability to have different page sizes (like 4K etc)

I had this app around 2 years ago it was amazing, I paid for the pro version. Had beautiful journals I put lots of time and effort into. Opened the app one day to one of my journals gone. Seems there was a problem syncing and it was lost forever. This turned me off and I cancelled my subscription and deleted the app. Just the other day I decided to give it another go as I really did love the app. TWICE in 2 days has my journal just completed disappeared. I clicked the ‘first aid fix’ for it to restore nothing. I will never return to this app as it is just infuriating to lose work I am proud of so easily and not even my fault.

Yes, I know this review won't suddenly remove the entire payment model but, well, if you want to know someone didn't buy your product... Paper has an incredibly beautiful interface (which in my opinion is an acessibility feature since it's so easy to look at) and is responsive exactly like a real notebook. I wanted to use it for "digital scrapbooking" since using a drawing app I can't collate/draw images into themed, easily navigable notebooks and in real life I would have to be constantly printing out my reference images. So Paper was literally perfect... except for the fact that the cutting tool is locked behind pro. No matter, I'll just cut images out in a seperate app and - wait, you also can't insert more than one image without pro... great. I can't even test it out for what I was going to use it for. Even then, I was fully ready to buy for those features (seriously, coders, fantastic work, wow) but was instantly turned off by the subscription model of around $14 AUD per year. Subscriptions are justified by companies for digital products for maintenance, features and update costs, but look at the version history of Paper. Maintenance and bug fixes, maintenance and bug fixes, maintenance and bug fixes. The last new feature was put in two years ago. Why on earth would I pay each year for them to fix things they didn't want to be there in the first place? If it was just one price, or there was a cheap subscription model and then a more expensive permanent option, I would have bought it. Sorry! I understand the sub is cheap especially compared to things like streaming services, but I've already been burnt by Apple too many times to possibly lose all my work in a year because I can't even open the app without renewing a payment that will probably have doubled due to inflation and cost of living.

when i try to open it i see a loading screen but it never loads

This app doesn’t allow use if you don’t pay their subscription, so don’t waste your time. Without paying you just are shown how to use the app but can’t do anything other than follow the steps to learn what’s what. A free 5 pages would be a nice way of allowing people to use this app and see if they actually like it before buying.

I like the pictures because when I grow up I want to been an artist when I older that’s why I gave it five out of five.

It really helps me get in touch with my creative side with it's tools and aesthetic features.
