My husband and I kept a Google sheet with links to our favourite recipes for a couple of years before I discovered Paprika. I love it because I don’t have to look for the links anymore, and especially because I don’t have to navigate blog posts full of ads and the author’s life story. My husband and I share a login and it’s great for us. Would give 5 stars but my husbands app isn’t updating with my newest recipes.
I’ve been using this app for a few years now. And I recommend it to all of my friends and relatives. The copy and save feature where you can download any recipe in the internet is amazing. And it works very well 99% of the time. You can create categories for your recipes and subcategories. So that you can organise your recipes by origin, chef, ingredients, or whatever you like. Unfortunately I don’t use the shopping list or the groceries section. I find it a bit too complicated specially when I need to share it with my partner who doesn't really understand the app. I love the calendar and the meal planner. You can even assign colour to meals, and even create your own meals. The feature of several timers for your recipes used to be a big advantage when Clock app didn’t have that feature but now I still use it because the enriched text starts the timer from just one tap when reading and following your recipe. It’s an amazing app for new and old cooking fans and people who don’t want to stain their cookery books while cooking! Enjoy!
I bought this app about eight years ago and have bought it for so many of my friends! Don’t get me wrong I love my cookery books and I must have at least 100, but I read them and then then look up the recipe because it’s so much easier to follow with all of the options for scoring through ingredients that have been used, for Harvey recipes, for multiplying them it’s absolutely brilliant!
I love this app. It isn’t perfect but what is? I use it every single day of my life because it is simple to use and … it works. Little details like having a built-in timer and that, when I tap on the part of the recipe I’m studying, it highlights. I read a recipe on-line that I love, open the app and … bingo, I get to import the recipe including all the nutritional information and the photo. Quite simply this is my number one app.
It only it could read receipes from photographs. My photo library is full of receipes that I’ve taken a picture of from a cookbook but which isn’t available on line.
It would be great to have an edit option in a recipe to reduce the amount of the pantry items based on what portions are being cooked. While the pantry is great, you seem to have to keep manually updating each item, every time you cook. I’m not sure what’s the point of having amounts otherwise.
As a Paprika user for many years and a fervent fan, I have one major gripe. The “Meals” function is great for recording recipes and menues but misses out big time on analysis. I’ve got years of meals recorded but there is no way to interrogate the database. I can’t find out what have been my favourites over time, what I’ve cooked most often, what I’ve never repeated, who I’ve served a meal to or how my taste has changed over time. A query menu would be so interesting and make some good use of all that data. I have tried to contact Paprika to ask them to consider this functionality but I’ve had no acknowledgement never mind a response. This is a brilliant way of keeping recipes but could be so much bettter.
Love this app, so easy to imput and file recipes into different food categories.
I love this app and frequently batch cooker meals for the freezer. I would love to be able to select an option in a recipe to add 1 or more servings to the freezer section in the pantry, which the adjusts if I later select that meal on another occasion.
