It takes into your consideration your exercise, weight and goal weight and creates a plan for you. However, it does not give insight in the timing expected to reach your goal weight with the calorie plan provided - this would be very useful. Loads to 100% and then holds on that screen for some reason. -- Drallig1, 2024-12-30 ### ***-- "This app has potential" Having trialled this app and listened to the daily podcasts (of the trial), this app has blown a fresh perspective from the ordinary. Firstly, the AI is great. You have different methods of entry with variable accuracy. It is quick and easy to do. Secondly, the mentality of the podcasts is down to earth and refreshing. It debunks being strict and promotes good habits with leniency. A common question is about why only calories and protein are shown is explained as a new science. This is fine, in theory but listening to the podcast, he says that he wanted to get the app out there as it is enough. So in my head, I wonder if the lack of features is being disguised as theory. I would say there is no harm allowing the tracking of other nutrients and allowing the user the option to hide away but still track. Those stats of nutrients can be then fed into Health app and help other apps make an informed decision on diet. It would be good for those who need to track them like gluten, lactose etc. Speaking with the AI, I think it’s still early days. It is programmed to add entries, nothing else. I asked it to add entries from yesterday. It didn’t know. If I asked it for food advice, like “chatting with a friend”, it probably won’t give me a response. The goals is another sticking issue in the community, he explains that because food labels are inaccurate in reality, the goal is to reflect that. Yet when I added my entries, I found the AI would round things to the nearest 100g, so it would sometimes overestimate. So I think that might be another reason that the goals are too high. Whilst the app is great in parts, there’s still a lot of potential to be had. For me personally, in its current state and mentality, I don’t need ParrotPal. His advice makes sense and makes me wonder, what the point of tracking is. If everything is an estimation, it just doesn’t feel solid for me to commit to. With more features, it might excite me to use the app but the app mentality is keep it simple. So will it ever improve? -- Culwenimos, 2024-12-30 ### *---- "Refused me a refund! TWICE" I had requested a refund as my child had accidentally bought the app thinking it was a game due to the logo being a parrot whilst they were playing on the tablet. They refused me a refund with no explanation as to why. I then had to appeal and explain the situation again to then be told I would not be getting a refund for a second time and their decision was final - again with no explanation. I explained I am a single parent and it is Christmas and I cannot afford £39.99 to come out of my account. I contacted Apple support to help me and they could not assist me either. Personally the biggest factor for me beyond the incredible ease of tracking via speaking, photos, barcodes or searching the database has been the daily podcasts. The motivation, consciousness and clarity they allow me to start my day with have been like nothing else.
