## PathCheck SafePlaces Description
PathCheck SafePlaces is the official app published by PathCheck Foundation to aid in COVID-19 exposure notification and contract tracing in the following jurisdictions: Haiti, Guam, Puerto Rico, and Teton County, Wyoming.

PathCheck (formerly COVID Safe Paths) can privately save the places you visit and store them on your phone. Subscribe to Healthcare Authorities in your area for information about COVID-19 near you, where available.

Receive alerts from your local Healthcare Authority with information about potential exposure to COVID-19.

We are a global movement to develop free, open-source, privacy-by-design tools for residents, public health officials, and larger communities.

The PathCheck program has spun out of initial privacy-first research conducted by MIT and TripleBlind, into a newly created non-profit called PathCheck Foundation, established with the initial purpose of supporting global rollout of the PathCheck app and associated tools for contact tracers and healthcare authorities.

The goal of PathCheck is to help enable the reemergence and re-opening of economies and communities. Through global partnerships, we are prepared to support public health officials everywhere in the effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.

## PathCheck SafePlaces Reviews in United States

### ***-- "Doesn’t play well with iOS 14.2"
Keeps crashing.
-- THE ORIGINAL FUZZY, 2020-11-22

### ***** "Excellent privacy 1st approach"
Full disclosure: I am part of the team working on this app. I think that makes me more knowledgeable not biased. I saw how the sausage was made and I believe in it. This app is from a non-profit foundation trying to help the world find a path forward. The app is solid but only one piece of the puzzle; you need your local Public Healthcare Authority to deploy their services with the app so people know what to do if they test positive. I like that the location data is stored on my phone and no one can see it but me unless I choose to share it. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because the Public Health Authority in my state has not adopted this solution so I cannot get full functionality.
-- RMH789, 2020-07-01

### *---- "Useless without more health dept partners. If you not in WY you are being fooled."
See above
-- Fla Son, 2020-06-28

### **--- "Doesn’t do anything"
Hasn’t done anything for me. Can’t see anyone around me. Accuracy seems poor though.
-- USSR 4, 2020-05-30

### ****- "Great concept and mission, but needs wider adoption to work"
I love how the app is designed with privacy in mind and doesn’t track your location using GPS tech.

But the app needs more users for us to receive updates on whether someone we’ve been near is actively exhibiting COVID19 symptoms or not.
-- aileezee232, 2020-05-24

### ***-- "Needs work"
It's a good idea, I've been using it for over a week now, they just notified me that they are not set up in my area to notify me if I have been exposed so this app is currently useless for me
-- Birdgirl52, 2020-05-17

### ***** "Health authority"
Love the idea but I’m a little lost on how to go about finding urls for local health authorities or any additional health authorities for more location data
-- Macbolan75, 2020-05-07

### ***** "Excited"
Thank you for this app. I was looking for many places where I could track my potential cross paths with a c-vid positive person. And I like that this app actually does care about my privacy and do not download my data.
-- otterday, 2020-05-06

### ***** "Amazing"
This is a great app — really important work.
-- Sashakeegan, 2020-05-04

### ***** "A glimmer of light during hard times"
An amazing app produced for an amazing purpose. Thank you
-- Mikdit, 2020-05-03
