This app is awesome! Allows you to track the progress of your boots as they age. It reads from the date you took the photo and helps you keep track of what your boots look like after a few wears and what it looked like brand new. No other app out there that does this. Awesome!
Entering two pairs was a bit daunting.. but of the two pairs .. these Jim green Barefoot African Rangers have Broken in like Treasured Baseball glove or Leather jacket .., I initially treated them with just Sapphir waterproofing., and wore them daily with no insert .. these were my first barefoot style boots .. I found them to be as comfortable as a sneaker .. the eventually broke in and began to Patina , I did not go out of my way to Purposely bash or do any outrageous things to Patina them fast or damage .. to me that looks forced and unauthentic.. the last week of wear I conditioned them with Black Rock Leather N Rich .. the Crazy horse Leather darkened a bit but eventually dried to a unique and beautiful patina ., think brings out the texture and wear .. used but not Abused !!
This effort is a great resource for documenting how leather ages. If you are not sure if a certain leather is right for you, most likely you can find it here and see how it will look after several months (or more) of regular use.
