Great Bit of Kit

Pppiker on

English Springer Spaniel owner and touch wood he’s not been lost and with this bit of a kit even when he’s out of sight I have an idea where is or has been. It’s waterproof even when he’s pretending to be a hippo in the mud. It’s secure on his collar so all in all I can highly recommend

Poor

Pear lie on

We have had this for some time. It’s not very accurate. For some time it was saying our dog had returned to the area and it was hours later than he had. The update to fix this took weeks, I’m going to say, if not a month or more. Part of the mechanism to hold it on the collar has broken off on one side. I get that we have a rough and tumble, 48kg dog but that’s what it’s designed for? When it fell off our dogs collar, we trawled for hours in the wet grasslands looking for it but it was in a no signal area and we couldn’t track it. I guess it would have been easier if there was a dog attached to it, but we were not looking in the right area because it isn’t that accurate. If you walk your dog in a town or a city then it will work well. The dog walker found it eventually as she knew where our dog was playing that day. I don’t know, I suppose disappointed is what I would say. We paid for a subscription for some years, but I don’t think we will continue at the end of it, if it lasts that long.

Great product

Pawfit is a great product, would give it 5 stars but the tracker has come off twice in bushes. Perhaps down to me not ensuring it was properly fitted. On both occasions it was easy to find and the alarm helped

Very reliable

Cudowna on

I did use a major competitors device but it was so unreliable. Kept loosing signal. Pawfit is so much better. Much longer battery life and very very rarely loses gps signal. My only criticism is that the distances shown as being covered are not very accurate. It more often than not greatly exaggerates how long a walk is. The most important point is is I always know where my pet is on a walk.

Peace of mind

Vegan runner Durham on

I’ve been a customer for over 2 years after my previous tracker form another company caught a light whilst charging. The peace of mind this offers is invaluable. The app is easy to use and can be viewed no matter where you are in the world unlike other companies so when I’m on holiday I can see where my dogs have been.

Seriously?!

If you want to be woken up at 1.55am and again after 2am by Pawfit pushing adverts to your phone that you have not agreed to, this is the device for you. Whomever thought this would appeal to long term existing customers is a weapons grade idiot. Time to switch to another tracker for my dog.

It’s nice to know

We’ve an energetic spaniel and while he is pretty focused on staying with us, there is always a risk he’ll chase … I do track the dog on his long morning walk - if only to know when my partner is headed back so I have the coffee ready. Quality of tracking is good even on the hills - we have compared to Garmin data and accounting for the difference in frequency of recording, it’s pretty good.

Pawfit and new Pawfit

Absolutely brilliant. Bought our first one 2 years ago and now replaced it with the new version. It’s about £55 and £30 a year for the tracking but it has been so reassuring to have it.

Amazing would be even better with a widget option for easier access

Indestructible

After 5 years of walking by my side, one of my very obedient spaniels decided to take it upon herself to go awol for hours at a time. She would always find her way back to the car but for the duration of her escapades I had absolutely no idea where she was. She loves to swim, bog trot, forage through the woods, nose in everything, she’s a very active, very fast and very energetic spaniel so can cover distances in no time at all. When walking herself was becoming a “thing” I decided it was time to go on tag. Too often I’ve seen people looking for the Tractive trackers and not the dog so I immediately ruled them out as my dog is too wild and would immediately lose it. I’d heard of Pawfit and looked at how sturdy the attachment was and thought we’d try it out. It clips neatly on to her collar with no irritation. She isn’t bothered by it at all. The app works really well and is very easy to use. The tracker (Pawfit 2) has been thoroughly tested in all weather conditions, soaked in thick mud and bashed through the undergrowth of the woods, she’s swam in the ponds and lakes, been through snow and heavy rain and it has never skipped a beat. I now recommend these to my clients and I have several dogs on my app now that I can see the location of. Customer service has been very helpful too. I’m pleased to say her phase of walking herself appears to have ended! But for peace of mind she remains “on tag” 🙂
