## Paxton Key Description
Please note, this app is compatible with Paxton10 V3.3 and newer only.

When used in conjunction with a Paxton10 system from Paxton, this app allows you to use your iPhone as a means of accessing a building.

By presenting your iPhone to a wall mounted reader you will be able to control the Paxton10 system to;
- Gain access to a building or car park
- Carry out predefined actions within the system such as setting an intruder alarm

This app allows users to have ‘virtual keys’ sent to them prior to visiting a building, dispensing with the need to obtain and carry a separate access card.

About Paxton10

Paxton10 is an access control and video management system from Paxton. Built on a foundation of secure access control, Paxton10 knows where people are and allows the building to respond as required. Paxton10 combines security and convenience, and is suitable for all types of buildings.

Paxton aims for engineering excellence, creating intelligent, innovative products that are fit to meet the challenges and trends of the quickly evolving security industry.

This app directly supersedes the Paxton Key v1 app (discontinued 30th November 2022).

## Paxton Key Reviews in United Kingdom

### ***** "Works perfect"
Need to keep the app open, but once you’re used to that it’s great.
-- GreatJeffe, 2025-03-11

### *---- "Frustrating"
If you love standing outside a door for ages repeatedly moving your phone towards the Paxton sensor in an attempt to make it do it’s one job then you’ll love this app.

This is without doubt the worst access system available. I, and all my colleagues, have about a 20% success rate with this app actually letting us in at each try.

I’ve long given up on the hope it’ll actually work in the background but even with the inconvenience of having to open this everytime I want to go through a door it still mostly doesn’t work.

The only good thing I can say is at least the bug where it was opening my default Apple Wallet payment card every time I presented the phone to the reader appears fixed.
-- colruk, 2025-01-25

### *---- "Not fit for purpose"
Have to keep force closing the app and reopening it again for it to work. Super temperamental
-- George Higginson, 2024-11-08

### *---- "Absolutely pathetic!!!!"
It doesn’t even work most of the time. All I’m trying to do is enter my building, is that too much to ask? Pathetic.
-- Shuwhebevjwkdnd, 2024-09-19

### *---- "Not Very Good"
Works most of the time on my phone. Never works on my watch: force closing the watch app brings the key back sometimes. So far I have never managed to open a door with my watch - not even once. No wallet support. Wish I had the choice of using something else.
Update following developer response. The last update was 9 months ago, not "recent". My experience and review is therefore based on the most "recent" update.

### *---- "Doesn’t work at all on Nottingham cycle parks"
Nottingham city council made a big mistake investing in this product. The system worked just fine when using an access card and now it doesn’t work at all. Hopefully they back out.
-- si-du, 2024-07-26

### ***-- "Great when it works"
The system seems to have a few bugs that frustrate my users.
Apple IOS denied access is a regular occcurrence, removing and re adding the key fixes this sometimes but more often we are now having to issue Fobs, which is not what we wanted.
-- infrequent bus user, 2024-07-17

### *---- "Why is my wallet opening! 🤷🏻‍♂️"
The concept of this app is great.
The technology is very poor.
It is slow, intermittent and for some reason my apple wallet opens when the phone is near a reader.
Clearly big issues with this!
Avoid or they need to do some urgent fixes!
