Record everything. By integrating traditional text notes with audio, Pear Note ensures that you never miss a thing.
Do you:
Look at your notes and wonder what they mean?
Pear Note can jump straight to the point in the recording where you typed that note, so you can listen to what was going on at the time and use the recording to interpret your notes.
Find that your notes have large gaps?
Pear Note lets you navigate to the end of the notes you did take, so you can listen to or watch what was going on when you zoned out.
Features:
- Instantly jump to anywhere in the recording by tapping the text
- Rich text notes, including bulleted and numbered lists, highlighting, and text styles
- Sync notes via Dropbox to other iPads, iPhones, iPod touches, or laptop/desktop computers running Pear Note
- Inline images which can be taken with the built-in camera, inserted from your photos, or copy/pasted from other apps
- Search to help you find your notes quickly
- Background recording to keep recording if you switch to another app
- Add PDF slides to notes and record when they are changed, then use slides to navigate the recording as well
- Play back video synced from laptop/desktop computers running Pear Note
- Universal app runs on iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch

Is Pear Note legit?
🤔 The Pear Note app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
Nice Idea but not as useful as the mac version which is great!
This app would make more sense for me if it would be possible to highlight text more easily ( like in ibook or iannotate). In addition to that it would be great to be able to tape on a paragraph to simply change the slide preview without having the keyboard popping out each time. The only thing I have really to complain about is that I'm getting an error message, for a file I've created with the mac version, saying the "text has too many lines" !? In consequence of that the app is unable to display all the lines.
The Mac version is greate and i hope i can use the iPad version in the future to help in my studies and save me some time. Thanks
Very useful program
I use the program often with wonderful results. Hope the developer will incorporate Apple Pencil with the program.
Love this App. Please update to be compatible with iOS 11
Please update so that I can continue to use this great app.
Updated Sept 30th
Thank you for updating to be compatible to iOS 11.
Long time user
Pear Note is my go to note taking app. My chief complaint is that the developers are slow to incorporate updates. What I like best is the ability to upload an outline prior to meeting. Then I can mark each speaker then immediately return during editing.
Update!
I have important info on this app- need iOS 11 update ASAP!
Extremely infrequent updates, lots of bugs
Lazy developers are inattentive to improvement suggestions and the apps for mobile are all but useless. When they finally do update the software it introduces MORE bugs, not less. Use Evernote or something else. These clowns are just reaping the app sales at this point for this antiquated piece of junk.
Abandoned app
App is abandoned and of little use now. Falling way behind in features and compatibility.
Hasn't been seriously updated since iOS 4
I'm a little sore about this. The developer seems to think that no serious work needs to be done on this app since it was completed somewhere around iOS 4. It's a niche app, so it's good enough, I guess. I feel like I didn't get the value I was expecting.
Excellent Note Taking App
This application along with its desktop counterpart have become my primary note taking software. As a Physican Assistant student we have a lot of classes and a lot of notes. The ability to audio record, keep track of slide changes, and have plenty of space for note taking is excellent for my note taking style. The best feature is being able to listen to what was said when I typed a note, really good for clarification, or if I wasn't sure of what I heard. The only improvement I wish this software had was the ability to annotate slides. Other than that I feel it is a much better method of note taking than notability or Evernote.
iPad version too simple
- Unable to record video in iPad version
- A few improvements and updates.
- Impossible to comment in PDFs
- Sync just with dropbox or icloud, no local sync like webdav or FTP (so, if you will use the software for the purpose it was created for, you will notice that is impossible to sync in the cloud because you will use too much space)
- When you open the pdf in full screen you will see a big border in the screen and you cannot do a zoom.
Resuming, the iPad version is incomplete and as you can see the development of this software has stopped, and it will never be better.
