So yes that is a scam, and it deserves 0 stars but the rating system makes you choose at least 1. PS the responses you make on reviews that criticize the app are way to defensive and make you look bad. If you are going to respond to bad reviews, most of the responses should simply say “I’m sorry you didn’t like the app, I appreciate the feedback”. You saying that I lied is the real lie. I NEVER said you had to pay for the app to try it I said “You cannot get the "free" trial without selecting a subscription. The closest equivalent camera I own is an 85 year old Voitlander Bessa I. Shooting with it requires patience and intention, things most digital cameras and smartphones don’t foster. As a professional photographer for 25 years, it’s been a long time since I found a tool that made me better at my craft. As it advertised as a Fujifilm X100 on your phone, I think it’s going too far. And the interface really need to rework, I understand the idea behind, trying to mimic a vintage camera, but it’s too inconvenient, the dial interface is very hard to use, they don’t turn the way you want. And then the rendering is super slow, it do not have the buffer fast enough to hold the pictures you take, so you will need to wait, a lot. BUT… among all the short comings, which I really want to rework on, this particular ‘film simulation’ is the best I ever seen in any camera apps: Chroma Solaris! This is a killer! The color is so accurate to human eyes, it’s almost identical to what you see. This is really the best color I ever seen. Every photographer should know that red color is the hardest to replicate, red usually come out wrong, but not this simulation, it render it correctly! Wow! It’s not saturated or being dramatic, all the color profiles or simulations out there really just a trick as they add so much personal preferences or trying to create certain ‘vintage’ look which is never true. But this one is just so good. The images rendered are beautifully done, not too sharp, just natural. I will keep it just for this reason. I really hope that you can improved all the others and DON’T mess with this particular film simulation. Way to go. -- birdywo, 2024-08-21 ### ****- "Great so far! Awaiting updates" Honestly, very impressed with the quality and colors coming out from this app! I’ve been using another app Lapse to get the film look but this one seems to nail it much better in quality. I know this app may be early in development so I’m awaiting future updates. I used to have an X100V and have shot on a variety of film cameras so I’m familiar with what quality I’m looking for in that realm of photography. Sold my Fuji to fund some emergencies and have been looking around for alternatives until I’m ready to buy another camera. Although, this app makes me reconsider if I even need to buy a camera so soon. The subscription model is really not that bad if you think about the alternative of buying film rolls or an entirely new camera. Btw, I’m using an iPhone Pro Max with Moment lenses. Now for some of my gripes (and suggestions): - I’m not a fan of the shutter placement when shooting vertically but it works horizontal. A simple UI rotation would resolve this. - I don’t think the custom buttons were able to change on my end? - I’d also like to see functionality for all of the iPhone 15 pro max native lenses (it’s missing the 2x)—jumps from 1x-5x - would love to see the film sim live as shooting instead of after development - would like to flip through the preset film sims easier—a couple steps too many to make those changes on the fly Overall looks solid so far! -- itzJUHvon, 2024-08-21 ### *---- "Pathetic and useless" This is a stupid app. There’s s-log function but the app superimposes the film filter so there’s no way you can use the log look for edits.
