I’ve been looking for an app like this ever since Speechify became too expensive for me. Unfortunately, this thing I love most is its ease of use. Much better than Speechify in this regard. Speechify often gave me problems when trying to play new books, Peech gave me no such problems with any ebook or Kindle book that I tried. Peech has worked first try with every book I have tried, and even the voices are better in my opinion. Peech picks up and reads until you tell it to stop. Speechify would only play a page or two while playing in the background, Peech played the first book I tried, and it played perfectly from prologue to epilogue, 8 hours later. I can’t recommend Peech highly enough. I purchased the year subscription of unlimited books. I listened to several books over the course of a month. Then Peech decided to change there unlimited to a 1000 credit a month which is equivalent to a book a month. I paid for unlimited and they should have honored my year subscription. They didn’t care and just said sorry. This app is full of glitches from skipping sections, switching voices and curser delay when reading text along with audio. I do not recommend this service as they’re dishonest and there are better apps out there for the same price. Two days later I am told they failed to communicate that minutes were no longer unlimited. Only 1000 minutes a month with the subscription . If I read an hour a day that is 1800 minutes. The cost of buying 1000 more minutes I means the subscription monthly cost doubles hello I will be cancelling my subscription plus I just found if I get calls on my phone I have to manually restart the reading. Inconvenient since i use earbuds and phone is yards away. The problem lies with the AI. What with a monotone reading and common mispronounced words, taking one word and making it two makes the listening extremely difficult at times. But when the reading flows it flows well and it’s a joy. So if you can muscle through the tough terrain it’s not a bad reader. I’m sure they will upgrade the AI at some point though. One more thing, they’ve changed the amount of listening you can do significantly for the same price. Also it has a male voice for the title and then one female voice after that the whole way through. I’m an avid romance book reader generally with multiple points of view through the story and if you’re not paying close attention you get lost easily in the story. Also it can’t read two and three letter words like at or sat, it spells the word out. Sometimes doesn’t read the word correctly like wound (wound around a tree) would be wound (like an open wound/lesion). And I read romance, so imagine other words. The import and download is seamless which is great, very easy to do. The way it plays in sections so you can go back short distances is great as well, sometimes a little slow to move on to the next section though.
