The app is easy to navigate and provides visual examples to begin you on your brewing journey. The sign up for the account did seem a bit lengthy and unnecessary at times (setting up email authentication) but the whole process of setting up my account and finishing step one didn’t take me more than forty five minutes. -- IGravette, 2025-01-04 ### *---- "Trash. To sign in they send a one time code, but it’ll only send to your email and not phone, so not sure why that’s even an option. It’s a very buggy app that isn’t very user friendly. I’ve assigned my Pinter but the instructions don’t work. The button is broken and won’t load anything. I have to mock add another Pinter and back channel my way in to find instructions for each step of the process. Also, I’ve installed reinstalled, updated all settings, but the push notifications don’t work. I would be happier with a functional web based solution. The struggle is that much of the app is a redirection to the web where you need to login again and reorient what you were trying to accomplish. Brew guide/calendar is an excellent idea but doesn’t allow smooth advancement through the stages. Hopeful for future updates. Way too buggy and way too secure for something just to track a brew cycle. Doesn’t even work half the time, so you can’t see where you’re at in the process. Additionally, once you get to the tapping process in your cycle, you completely lose the calendar telling you when you started the brew and did each phase. So if you’re wanting to track progress and take notes for future brews, you have to do that manually elsewhere. I was able to log into the app successfully but it wasn’t easy. The app has different password rules than the website. You have to go back to the website and change your password there to conform to the app rules. The app doesn’t always give a good error message if it doesn’t like your password. For instance if your password has an underscore it doesn’t tell you that it won’t accept an underscore, it just fails and gives you the rules, which tell you to use a special character. Gee I thought underscore was a special character. The app says “create an account” when you are trying to log in to an existing account. Confusing. But you can log in. I cannot review the rest of the app yet because I’ve just managed to log in. I bought one for brew and were now unloading the pinter into 3 growlers and restarting both ours same day as tapping. Starting with creating an account, although it sends the one time password to the email address that you try to register, it does not recognize that one time password. So you can no longer proceed in setting up the app because you can't login. To make matters worse: the button it has to resend the OTP does not work. It has no effect whatsoever when pressed To make matters even more dire, the support button at the top right of the screen produces absolutely no effect either. It is clear that nobody ever tested this app before it went out on the market. If it were my employee that pushed this to the App Store, he would be looking for another job. I did attempt to write for support, but no response as of 48 hours at this point, Iam planning on returning my PINTER. because the engineers were not smart enough to realize that relying on a faulty app to tell people how to use their product is a bad thing to do. with no instructions accompanying the product, it is simply a brick and a waste of peoples time and money I will be posting a review of this on, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook. sorry pinter but you failed. -- PlasmaNM, 2024-02-06 ### ***** "Easy to use app with pics and animations" The app does make you create an account even if you created one through their website. That is annoying. But it walks you through the process of setting the whole thing up the first time and how to brew. It also shows you pictures and has animations showing motions in the process. I started my first batch, the Dark Matter stout. The app also allows you to set the start time and tells you when the brewing and proofing is scheduled to end.
