… Aber nach der Anmeldung (über den Browser, weil es über die App schon nicht funktioniert hat) komme ich über die App nicht rein.

Irgendwie alles etwas unübersichtlich und für mich nicht nachvollziehbar.

So kann ich meinen Account noch nicht mal mehr löschen.

Zunächst sollte man sich am Desktop über Pixelfed-Server informieren und dann registrieren. Danach kann man sich dann auch hier einloggen. Die App erinnert an das Instagram vor Zuckerberg, das Fediverse funktioniert mit Hashtags und es gibt keine bevormundenden Algorithmen. 
Leider kann ich seit zwei Tagen nur noch quadratische Formate hochladen. Und es gibt noch keine Filter wie bei Instagram. Deshalb nur 4 Sterne. Sonst toll.

Something changed. I was able to distinguish between the „I follow“ feed and the public feed. Now, the „I follow“ feed is about the same as the public one. Completely overwhelming with stuff that I neither want nor like.

Es gibt keine Werbung und auch kein Premium. 
Sondern eine gut gestaltete App die sehr an das frühe Instagram erinnert.Die Performance könnte jedoch besser sein.

Es sind noch nicht alle Features der Website verfügbar, aber den Darkmode gibt es bereits.

### *---- "Frustrierend und dämlichster Antispamfilter ever"
Der Anmeldeprozess der App ist eine Katastrophe. Weder auf der Webseite noch in der App wird tatsächlich erklärt, was es mit den verschiedenen Servern auf sich hat. Im Netz erfährt man dann zwar, dass die Serverwahl egal sei aber so einfach ist es dann nicht, da unterschiedliche Server unterschiedliche Funktionen haben. Ich bin auf den größten deutschen Server gegangen. Aber wirklich weit gekommen bin ich nicht. Der Server nutzt einen Spamfilter, der von Pixelfed als „advanced“ beschrieben wird, aber eher „wir wollen dich hier nicht“ heißen sollte. Er stellt deinen ersten Post auf „unlisted“ womit er im öffentlichen Feed nicht auftaucht. Und Spam ist es dann, wenn du die max. Zeichen ausnutzt, die dir angeblich angeboten werden (5000). Die gelten aber nur für den Alt-Text den man eh nicht sieht. Du hast hier weniger Zeichen (2000) als auf Instagram (2200). Aber natürlich ist das ein Serverfeature und kann von Server zu Server mehr oder weniger sein…naja auf jedenfall warte ich jetzt seit 7 Tagen darauf, dass ein Admin den Post freigibt. Ich kann also seit 7 Tagen nichts posten, wenn ich damit Leute erreichen will. Der „Spam“ in meinem Fall ist ein Tierbild mit Beschreibung/Fakten zu diesem Tier. Das ist, was ich tue: Bildungscontent über heimische Arten. Das sowas in einem Spamfilter landet ist allgemein schon armselig. Dass man dann aber nochmal über ne Woche warten muss, bis der Beitrag freigeschalten wird - bei einem chronologisch Ferd - ist ein vollständiges Ausschlusskriterium. Zumal ich nicht weiß, ob das bei kommenden Beiträgen dann wieder so ist. Natürlich kann man die Administration kontaktieren und erhält natürlich auch keine Antwort, selbst wenn man das entsprechende Häkchen gesetzt hat. Eine durch die Bank durch frustrierende Nutzererfahrung. Man könnte ja vielleicht den Server wechseln. Aber eine Anleitung dazu gibt es nicht und auch im Netz verschiedene Meinungen, wie man das macht. Als „Instagram-Killer“ stellt man sich was anderes vor. Finger weg!

Following and Followers only show users with the same server like me. I don't know if that's on purpose, but I'd like to see all Following and Followers, also from different servers.
Else, I wouldn't recommend the app to my friend as it is slow and not very user friendly at this point. But I'm hoping for improvement and will continue using it.

Pixelfed hat endlich einen Darkmode. Somit ist es für mich nun eine super Alternative zu den Konzern-Apps. Anmeldung auf pixelfed.de war einfach. Keine private Daten nötig. Keine Werbung. Wirklich super. Danke für die Mühen ✌🏻24 Stories sind mir egal, schaue ich eh nicht an. Brauche ich also auch nicht.

Leider noch einige grundsätzliche Fehler. Die App wirkt eher wie ein Prototyp. Manche Sache funktionieren, aber von einem vollwertigen Client zu sprechen, wäre sehr übertrieben. Warum geht man mit so einer Beta-Version in den App-Store?

We need desparatly an alternative to Instagram - i moved already all my stuff there. Hope many others will follow. Still some things to fix (iPhone Video Upload or longer Names) but with the incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign  we will build a world apart from meta 🙌🏼.

Pixelfed hat echt potential. Die App ist jedoch echt noch verbesserungsbedürftig. Ein Post zu erstellen ist sehr fehleranfällig. Manchmal stürzt die App komplett ab, eine ordentliche Möglichkeit Bilder zuzuschneiden fehlt und alles dauert sehr lange zum laden. Einiges ist sicherlich das Problem der Pixelfed server aber dennoch funktioniert pixelfed im webbrowser besser. Also bitte überarbeitet die App! Sonst gibt es keinen Reiz diese App gegenüber anderen Anbietern zu nutzen. Es muss ja auch nicht immer ein 1:1 Klon zu Instagram sein. Macht gerne sachen anders, aber funktionieren sollte es.
