Need Pixelmator Pro for iPad

ORHobbes on

Pixelmator for iPad is a good all around product and so is Photomator. But both are lacking compared to Pixelmator Pro on Mac. The iPad Pro has the same powerful processor and graphics of a M1 or M2 Mac now, so there are no hardware limitations. And there are far more iPad users than Mac users nowadays. The iPad touchscreen gives so many more options for photo editing with the Apple Pencil over the Mac. So I really hope they bring the full Pixelmator Pro app to iPad soon.

Wish it had a pixel effect

The Midnight Toker on

I love this app and only have one request. If you could add the pixelate effect like you have in the MacOS version, that would be great. It’s useful to be able to select and pixelate out sensitive data from pictures. The name of the app would imply you had this effect haha.

Adding NEW FEATURES to better the app

imesswitkal on

App is great to use but to make it better by adding 3D Option this feature is where you make anything 3D, Adding Mask Clipping with this feature you can mask clip anything, Adding Grid to make Logos this feature will really help people who are interested in making logos, text with effects it will really be useful.

Lost work

At0micSn0w on

The app used to be good, but now it just doesn't save anymore. All work I do just doesn't save.

I hate it.

It’s impossible

Don’t like latest update. Messes with flow + glitches

abeckrulez on

I think te new browser view makes it a lot harder to find your projects. Should be a way tor revert the view back to the old way if you want to. Also the app crashed on me and deleted a project i was working on that was saved. Finally the new update has the clone tool glitching. Now when you go to brush it on the whole image disappears, so you can’t see what you are doing.

Doesn’t compare to Pixelmator Pro or Procreate

JanaPainter on

I love Pixelmator Pro on my Mac and I was thinking how nice it would be if I could use my Apple Pencil with it. Then I saw it was available on the iPad, took a (too quick) look at specs and bought it. I was shocked by the user interface—there are virtually no visible tool or layer menus, and the ones that are there take multiple steps to get to what you need and then are severely lacking in capabilities compared to Pixelmator Pro and Procreate. Unfortunately it just doesn’t seem to be able to do any of the things I needed it to do, or if it is doable, I can do it more easily on Pixelmator Pro or Procreate so I have no use for this app. I’ve requested a refund.

bugs

Tim Shundo on

How can yall still be charging money for this app? Literally every function has its own individual bug. the distort tool sometimes looks very pixellated. The lighten/darken tool's effect are so ugly, not to mention the darken tool sometimes looks like its painting across all layers instead of the one selected, and the lighten tool with blow up the size of the layer x50000 while using it for no reason. Grouping layers bugs out for no reason. Sometimes blending modes just straight up down work. Sometimes the Tools menu gets stuck on the screen and you can't do anything in the app without force-closing it. And the best bug of all: sometimes saving just doesn't work at all. You'll just open the app, open your last document, and like 5-20 mins of the work you did last wont exist. Or even you just multitask out of the app, come back, and the whole document has reverted to how you originally opened it. Or sometimes you'll export the document as a PNG and then you can't leave the document or turn off your ipad until a little spinny loader goes away. Your have to leave the app open for few minutes until it finishes doing... whatever it's doing, or else you'll lose your progress again. If talk are just going to abandon this app like this, just retire it off the app store. Save your users the frustration.

Best All Around App For Creators

drewmf33x on

This app can replace so many of the single tool apps that nickel and dime you for subscriptions. This app replaced Canva, Photoshop and their sister app (Photomator) can replace Lightroom. It works so well on Macs, integrating with your photos in a similar layout to the photos app so finding photos is a breeze. If you’re a professional photographer and need heavy lifting, I would probably still be stuck with Adobe. But if you’re someone who likes to creator some photo art on their spare time and put content out there for creating, then this app is the one for you. Break free of being stuck with the subscription nightmare that we live in and get this. It’s far easier to learn than Adobe apps and the workflow is smoother. My apps are now Final Cut X for video, Pixelmator for editing and Photomator as Lightroom. Now I need to find a good sound editing app and I’m all set to make videos out constantly paying $100/month in subscriptions. I hope this app doesn’t go towards a subscription model and just has you pay for major updates that you can opt out of if you don’t need. I have definitely recommended this app to other creator friends.

Poor iPad experience, but solid iPhone app

AppInspector07 on

I’ve been a big fan of the Pixelmator family of apps for years, but I’m really disappointed by the iPad UI and painfully limited feature set of this app. They’ve had years to improve it and I just don’t see any progress on the iPad front. I totally understand the compromises that were made for iPhone, and this app shines on that small screen. But compared to Pixelmator Pro (or Pixelmator Classic, RIP), this app is a toy. The fact that there isn’t even a proper toolbar for the iPad experience is baffling. Hiding so many basic functions behind layers of menus doesn’t make sense on an 11 inch screen. I would pay good money for a proper Pixelmator Pro port for iPadOS.
