Plex: Watch Live TV and Movies

keeps crashing on ios18 every time i open the app or play something. never had this issue until i updated my os. using iphone 11 mini. i have a reasonable amount of content but it crashes in a way that i cannot open it again. this needs fixed immediately

Previously excellent app now chokes on simple videos. God help you if you're trying to watch remotely. Such a shame, hope it gets restored to previously working order.

I can’t fault the quality of the content available in terms of picture quality and sound. There was one thing that really annoyed me and that was the ad breaks… so many off them and with almost exactly the same ads every time. Breaks run for as little as 14 seconds to 2.5 minutes. Did I mention there were lots of ad breaks, because there are… lots of ad breaks. You are just getting into the flow and up pops another ad break. I know audiences in America are used to lots of ad breaks, but not here in Ireland. Sadly I have to give the service 2 stars because the amount of ad breaks really does impact the experience of watching anything. Another thing that really annoys me is seeing the thumbnail image for something and after tapping it you discover it isn’t available and you have the option to ‘Wishlist’ it. Why! I just want to see what is available to each now on the platform.

Apple TV: Dolby Vision support is poor and Dolby Atmos TrueHD is passed through as PCM. This all works with the Infuse app... There are stutter and audio sync issues going back months. General feedback: When I tap a recording that is in progress instead of asking if I’d like to start from the beginning or play live it just plays live. It used to ask and this has been spoiling sports events. No ability to save or download artwork locally like Emby.

With a bit of tuning this system is awesome. I'm actually replacing my Netflix subscription with it. If you have a good media library and a device you can leave always on running the server the 5.49 to have the unlocked app on every is device you own is a steal. Having podcasts is a great bonus, best player I've found (used apple, overcast, Spotify). Haven't tried photos or music. May in the future. Update: it’s a great system if you can maintain it, but you really need to commit on the server side

I was always wary of Plex….afraid to use it with my large catalogue of movies…in case it would loose, disrupt or re~index my films. What can I say, I was wrong. It gives me a full catalogue of my movies, inserts thumbnails, synopsis… you name it, it does it. And the streaming is damn bloody perfect. What a platform. If ye don’t have it, go get it. ITS THE BEES.

Plex is the best app out there

This app is quite good when it works. Unfortunately when you switch between apps and back to Plex, any playing media suddenly stops and you get disconnected to chrome cast. It is app specific, and the only way to fix is by reinstalling the app, and the fix is very temporary, lasts a couple of days.

Plex really is amazing technology and puts alternatives to shame. Been using it now and have replaced all other Tv and video tech in the house with this. N

Works perfectly. Really happy with Plex. Worth the money
