Great app

Still bitter about lost subscriptions when I changed phones, but great app.

Refreshing Episodes not Working

Love Pocketcasts and definitely been great since I’ve been using. However in the last few weeks whenever I get a notification that a new episode is available, I open the app and the episode does not appear for several hours. This is after refreshing several times. App updates have not helped either

Best Podcast App By FAR

I’ve been a long time user and the amount of functionality and customization you get with the free version is astounding. I love that it syncs across devices so I can start listening on my phone and then pick up on an Alexa device. It’s my recommendation for anyone who listens to podcasts. Also love the stats!

Really wanted to try this but ….

…It won’t download properly to my iPad. App says iOS 15.0 or later and I have 15.2.1 so it should work. But all it does is start to download and then, instead of saying ‘open’, it abruptly goes back to the little cloud and arrow icon, saying it’s not downloaded. Dev, if you can help please lmk. Will update if this gets sorted.

Laggy

Lags to the point of being unusable 50% of the time

What’s going on?!?

A few month ago I would have given this app a straight 5 Star rating. Not now, unfortunately. I’ve been using this app almost from the start about 9 years ago, and it was running reliably, and perfect. A couple weeks ago, video downloads wouldn’t show the video anymore. Audio only, although the downloads were video size. I tried to get in touch with their support, and tried to find online if others have similar issues. No response, and not much info to find online. Eventually, Pocket Casts released an update, and that seemed to fix the issue. Everything was running great again for a few weeks… till today. Same problem again!! I’m afraid I have to finally give up on this so great app :-/

The perfect podcast app for many reasons

When I first got an iPhone I set out on a quest to find the perfect podcast app. After going through a half dozen or so, I finally found it. There are many reasons, but the most underrated one is its search functionality. It is so good at finding either podcasts or even just specific episodes based on something you’re looking for. Other apps can’t do this well. I’ve been using this app for 3 years and have zero complaints, except that none of my friends use it so sharing podcasts isn’t as good as it could be.

Good and low battery

I have a "modified" system that allows me to get more insights from the phone (and that's insane the effort needed to escape absurd apple imposed restrictions). This app always stays below one percent cpu usage. Awesome. And UI is easy but flexible enough. And allows custom urls like my selfhosted scheduled radio recordings.

Ok app, the search feature is terrible

Not a bad replacement for Apple Podcasts which has gone from great to absolutely terrible. The interface is ok. But the search feature is the worst thing I’ve never used in my entire life. I can type the exact name of the podcast into the search bar and it will give me 20 unrelated podcasts. Fix this.

New UI isn’t an improvement

Long time user (and paying subscriber). The new grid layout is not an improvement. Smaller, weird and pointless spacing between things…and the # in the upper right bleeds into the spacing?? Such a weird UI choice and not one that works. Harder to see and use. Either fix it or give us an option to change. Concerning the “Developer Response” where they said “we understand change is hard”…….that’s not a helpful way to talk about UI change. Or change in general. A discussion on why or some key points would help and be respectful to your loyal and paying users. At this point, most of us are not dumb on UI.
