## PocketGrib Description
Mit PocketGrib können Sie globale Wetterdaten von unterwegs herunterladen, ansehen und analysieren. 

Wind, Niederschlag, Luftdruck, Temperatur, Wellengang und andere von GRIB-Dateien herausgezogene Daten werden über unsere leistungsstarke GRIB-Viewer-Schnittstelle angezeigt.

Die perfekte Lösung für Seeleute (sowohl beim Segeln als auch in der Kneipe), Windsurfer, Sturmjäger, Liebhaber von Freiluftaktivitäten sowie Amateur- und Profi-Meteorologen.

Funktionen 
- Kartenstandort wählen und mit Wetterinformationen überlagern 
- Animation der Wetterkarten 
- Das Wetter kann als Meteogramm (Schaubild) oder Rohdaten angezeigt werden 
- Konfigurierbarer Download zur Minimierung der Dateigrößen (großartig für Roaming) 
- Download der GRIB-Dateien auf Ihren PC via iTunes möglich 
- Online- und Offline-Anzeigen

PocketGrib Downloads und zeigt die folgende Wetter-Typen:
- Windgeschwindigkeit und Windrichtung
- Niederschlag (regen, Schnee usw.)
- Druck
- Lufttemperatur
- Wellen (einschließlich Mittelmeer und Schwarzes Meer)
- Bewölkung
- Relative Luftfeuchtigkeit
- CAPE (Konvektiv verfügbare potentielle Energie)
- Strömung (Nur Atlantik)

Direkter Download von GRIB-Daten aus dem GFS-Modell (Global Forecast System) des NOAA 
- Vorhersagen über bis zu 8 Tage 
- Datenintervalle: 3 Std., 6 Std., 12 Std. 
- Weltweite Abdeckungcoverage 
- Auflösung: 0,25°, 0,5°, 1°, 2° 
- Datenupdate viermal täglich (alle 6 Stunden) 
Außerdem Support für die Modelle COAMPS (0,2° Auflösung), WW3, NOGAPS, RTOFS (Strömungen) und FNMOC WW3 (Mittelmeerwellen).

GRIB-Vorhersagen werden ohne jegliche menschliche Eingriffe oder Prüfungen veröffentlicht. Daher muss der Endnutzer über einiges Wissen und gewisse Kenntnisse verfügen. Die meisten GRIB-Modelle sagen Wirbelstürme und tropische Zykone NICHT genau voraus. Daher empfiehlt es sich, deren Anwendung mit speziellen Vorhersagen für Wirbelstürme und tropische Zyklone zu kombinieren.

Seit Jahren habe ich diese App benutzt. Die Vorhersagen waren dabei auch immer recht zuverlässig. Doch was sich nach dem letzten Update eingeschlichen hat wirft diese App in die tiefsten 80er zurück. Landkarten, ohne erkennbare Küstenlinien. Inseln, mit einem Ausschnitt einer Bundesstraße. Hier heißt es für künftige Käufer: Finger weg!

ich bin mit der App. mehr als zu Frieden 
Die farbige Abstufung der Windstärke ist kinderleicht nach zuvollziehen und intuitive!!!

der Download über Karte mit Angabe der Größe ist perfekt 
für schlechtes Wifi im Hafen oder aber den Roaming Tarif.

Wenn dann ein kostenloser Hotspot vorhanden ist kann man immer noch per Katalog oder Karte die ganz große Wetterkarte laden,
wobei die im Katalog anscheinend schon grössenoptimiert sind.

Also echt eine gelungene Wetterapp für Segler und andere Outdoorfans!

### ***** "Für Segler ein MUSS!"
Nur mit dieser App ist sozusagen eine 4-Dimensionale Wettervorhersage möglich, da man sowohl im „Raum“ als auch in der „Zeit“ navigieren kann. Für eine Streckenplanung beim Segeln also optimal. Da die Gribfiles gespeichert werden, ist auch ohne aktive Internetverbindung die Benutzung jederzeit möglich. Die App ist ihr Geld wirklich wert!

Wenn man träumen dürfte, würde man sich eine rudimentäre Wetterrouting Funktion wünschen, in der eine Route eingegeben werden kann. Nach Eingabe der Bootsgeschwindigkeit und des Startzeitpunktes, könnte dann die Bootsposition zu einem beliebigen Zeitpunkt mit dem zugehörigen Wetter angezeigt werden. Das wäre sogar ein Inapp-Kauf wert.
