## PocketGrib Description
Met PocketGrib kun je nu onderweg globale weerdata downloaden, weergeven en analyseren.

Wind, neerslag, luchtdruk, temperatuur, stromingen en andere date uit GRIB bestanden kunnen nu door middel van de handge GRIB viewer worden weergegeven.

Ideaal voor zeilers (zowel op het water als in de kroeg), windsurfers, stormjagers, mensen die graag buiten zijn, amateur- en professionele meteorologen.

Kenmerken
- Kies een locatie op de kaart en verkrijg weerinformatie over dat gebied
- Animatie van weerkaarten
- Weer kan als meteogram (grafiek) of als data worden weergegeven
- Configureerbare download om bestandgroottes te minimaliseren (ideaal tijdens roaming)
- GRIB bestanden kunnen via iTunes naar een PC worden gedownlaod
- Zowel online als offline weergave
- Ondersteuning voor externe GRIB bestanden

PocketGrib downloads en geeft de volgende weertypen:
- Wind snelheid en richting
- Neerslag (regen, sneeuw, enz.)
- Druk
- Luchttemperatuur
- Golven (met inbegrip van Middellandse Zee en Zwarte Zee)
- Bewolking
- Relatieve vochtigheid
- CAPE (Convective Available Potential Energy )
- Stroom (Atlantische Oceaan alleen)

Directe download van GRIB data van NOAA's GFS (Global Forecast System) model
- Weersvoorspellingen tot en met 8 dagen
- Data stappen: 3u, 6u, 12u
- Wereldwijde dekking
- Resolutie: 0.25°, 0.5°, 1°, 2°
- Data wordt 4 keer per dag geüpdatet (elke 6 uur)
Ook ondersteuning voor COAMPS (0.2° resolutie), WW3, NOGAPS, RTOFS (Stromingen) en FNMOC WW3 (Mediterrane golf) modellen.

GRIB weervoorspellingen worden zonder menselijke onderbreking of herziening gepubliceerd. De eindgebruiker dient daarom over een bepaalde kennis en inzicht te bezitten. De meeste GRIB modellen maken geen precieze voorspelling van orkanen en tropische cyclonen, en het gebruik hiervan moet dus met specifieke voorspellingen voor orkanen en tropische cyclonen gecombineerd worden.

The only thing i dislike is that the Harmonie files i use do not show gusts. 
When i use the same file in Zygrib it shows gusts so the problem is in PocketGrib. PocketGrib can show gusts with other gribfiles. Can this be fixed?

This is a very reliable weatherapp. Use it for more than 3 years. Yes it helps when you have some basic meteo knowledge, but trust me: once you’re acquinted with it your own predictions are far more accurate than any weatherforecast. On land:took it with me on safari in S-Africa a few years ago, excellent. In the USA and in the Mediterrean also great. At sea it also provides current info & wave heights, which from my experience (in the Med) seems quite reliable.
