I love Pocketpills! They are so reliable for getting my medications to me quickly and easily. It’s nice not having to go to the pharmacy for drop off and pickup.

Auto shipping and payments impossible to stop within app or on line, this is a trap! Product is unstable, oxidizing and degrading within a month or two of purchase turning yellow.

I used PocketPills for years, and referred a number of people. None still use it. My patience ran out as well.

What finally drove me away is their practice of cramming: Adding unrequested (and unnecessary) add-ons, or filling prescriptions unrequested (and not on auto-refill, obviously).

The “last straw” example, they added needles (at my expense) to a product that includes more needles in the box than are needed. I wonder if the extra $17 was worth losing my $200-$400/month?

Another time, they started badgering my doctor to renew a prescription that I stopped taking months earlier due to side-effects, and despite me asking them to discontinue it. I grow tired of repeating myself.

I love the “pockets”, but interacting with the company is obnoxious. Individually the staff are great, it feels like they’re rushed and don’t have time to read their own notes, or maybe just don’t have control over the automation. 

If you’re looking for an alternative, they use a “PacMed” machine, and other pharmacies have them, so there are alternatives now. Calgary Co-op is one example, although full disclosure, I have not received my first order from Co-op yet.

There’s no way to remove past prescriptions, so now my app is cluttered and I have to sort through a bunch of them to get refills on the ones I need. 

They also automatically fill prescriptions after they renew, which is annoying especially if you don’t need it right away. There’s no option to stop this.

They don’t show price of prescription until your credit card is payment is through. And they auto process payment and shipping any prescription submitted by teledoc. 

You must ask client before processing payment.

I have had my ongoing meds provided by them, which was fine and came through with no hassle.

There was one med that was sent to them and insurance said it was not covered, so they were going to charge me directly for it. As it was not a required medication, I told them not to as it would put me $1,500+ out of pocket. It took several messages to get them to understand this point and not put through the request.

Recently I had to get a one off prescription for a sore throat and cough. They are telling me it will take nearly a week to deliver. Now I can’t seem to reach anyone to cancel it to get it filled locally and they will likely try to charge my card if I fill it elsewhere as insurance will not cover it twice.

This place is only useful for ongoing meds. Anything else…avoid them at all costs. They don’t respond in a timely manner and it takes several attempts to sort anything out with them.
