I have had the podpoint for several years and this update has completely stopped the device from charging. 

For whatever reason it keeps trying to smart charge and this function cannot be disabled as far as I can see! 

Seriously considering getting another charger for the house!

Don’t be trapped into the so called savings. Signing is a mistake. The charger does not work now and I’ve been waiting on the phone waiting for an agent for 30 minutes. Stay way from this app !

Absolutely terrible update and honestly very dishonestly implemented. The people at Pod who rolled these changes out will have known exactly what they were doing. The app now prioritises the needs of the energy suppliers and national grid, rather than paying customers. 

The “smart” charging setting now has only two options. 

Option one will only charge at low grid demand periods during off peak hours, which means your charge will stop and start repeatedly overnight, often for hours at a time. This will ensure your battery is left without the target capacity come morning. 

Option two does the same thing, but compensates by also charging at peak rates to make up for the reduced amount of charging it managed overnight. 

There is no option three to charge the battery as much as possible during off peak hours. 

There isn’t even an option to revert to full manual control so you can schedule your charge from the car. 

I have contacted support and asked to be reverted to the old app with its far superior functionality, but this has not yet been done.

Shame on the people who made the decision to roll this out.

Nice app compared to the original pod point app, I do however miss the function of being able to set how long you want a boost charge to last.

I have to quit on middle of the process too many information they need to know to use this APP this APP is only for very organised people. I don’t have all this information on hand I can’t use it I have to quit the process

I used to use Octopus Smart Charging , i was attracted by pod home rewards, i signed up and regretted quickly, it does not show communication with my MINI app by letting me know the charging session or schedule on both apps. Worse still, it keeps telling time is not enough to charge to 100% evenI plugged in at 17:30, and  I set to charge from 23:30to 05:30 off peak, my pod point charger is 32A , there must be enough time to fully charge my MINI SE. I tried to remove my EV so as to fall back to Octopus Smart Charging, however there is no way out.

Car set to charge off peak but randomly charges at peak rate.   If I did want to charge on demand there is no button on app to allow me to do so.  App just crashes on random pages when trying to open them.

This app is a better one than the previous, but it could be much better. 
The addition of locking the charger via the app is a much welcomed feature though it can be improved further. 
A suggestion would be the option to auto lock the charger after every charging session (charger unplugged from vehicle) meaning that subsequent plug ins would only start charging after the charger is unlocked from the app. This would greatly improve security and prevent unauthorised use if you forgot to lock it. 
Another suggestion would be to notify you whenever a cable is plugged in and remind you to unlock the charger if it is locked (which would serve two purposes:
1. Let you know anytime a cable is plugged in
2. Let you know that charging has not started yet. 

I believe the addition of these features/ options would greatly improve user satisfaction and adoption and make Pod chargers the best in the market.

I prefer the original version which enables you to schedule the day you want to charge your ev. The new app doesn’t seem to give you the flexibility. If both versions were combined it would be very much better.
