The Pod Point app serves all your public, workplace or home charge needs – all in one place.

With the Pod Point app, you can:

- Top up your EV while shopping or at the office
- Track your charging activity and energy consumption, both at home and on our public charging network in the stats tab
- Manage your power at home through solar or the grid
- Take advantage of low tariff hours by setting schedules

Remember, you can still collect Clubcard points when charging with us. Simply connect your Tesco Clubcard in the app to collect 1 Tesco Clubcard point for every £1 spent on charging using a Pod Point charger at Tesco stores.

Alongside a brand-new look and feel, we’ve got some serious technical upgrades. We’ve heard your feedback and been working to improve the EV charging experience.
But we aren’t done yet! Keep your eyes open for updates that will make EV charging as easy as possible.

By far the most frustrating and unreliable ev charging app. I tried using it at three different Tescos and all of them a complete failure. Two-point verification leads to a Groundhog Day cycle of failed logins — and as the only way to pay is via the app I am currently £30 the poorer (as none of the three attempts at charging via PodPoint worked).
Other drivers shared similarly woeful experiences.

This app is approaching tick box territory far more than being of much practical use. Pod Point has next to no support from energy suppliers for better tariffs. Cannot even add a second EV without cancelling out the first. A thing can be of so little use and threadbare that it defaults to easy to use purely because there is nothing of benefit that is of value to the user.

Having just had an excellent installation from Pod Point, I was hugely disappointed by this app. I’m an app developer myself so come on guys, put some effort it. You need multiple schedules per day not just one! Other chargers have it as standard. Imagine you want to charge your car between 1 am and 5 am and then again between 6pm and 10pm - it’s not possible on this app! I always feel like developers don’t put the same effort in when an app is a companion to hardware.

So please, developers, in your response to my review, acknowledge the failings and commit to improving it! If you need a hand, I’ll do it for you, just send me the code!

Unfortunately last night was the 4th time that the Smart charge hasn’t worked. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, which can only lead me to the conclusion that the app simply isn’t fit for purpose. Wanted to use smart charge so could minimise charging costs using our EV tariff but have given up with it now and will leave on manual charge. Unfortunately we’ve got a pod point installed so too late for us and higher electric bills are the price we’ll have to pay. Would certainly pick a different provider if we could go back in time.

The past two nights our scheduled charging has failed to commence. I’ve ensured the schedules are correctly set but this hasn’t helped. I’ve had to charge manually outside of the night tariff rates we access, meaning the price for changing our PHEV is substantially more expensive than it should be.

I use a Pod Point charger at home and this app works nicely. It’s easy to use and the scheduling and boost functions now work seamlessly. It would be nice to see the total charge amount in Kilowatts during the actual charge. At the moment you only get the final figure of how much electricity was used after the charge. My home charger is a nice straight forward piece of equipment and does the job I want it to do and has so far been reliable (I’ve had it for 2.5 years).

When charging at public points it doesn’t provide any stats like how long you have been plugged in, how many kWh you are drawing, cost per hour etc. this is a bit distracting when you have a top up credit system or are out at the shops and are killing time until you hit a certain level of charge.

One out of ten charges were shown on the map. I could not register on the other 9. When I called support, they were not much help. I just tried contacting them through the app but it tells me the message could not be sent and to contact support. I WAS TRYING TO CONTACT SUPPORT THROUGH THE APP!
Given up, deleted the app. The Ocotpus app works much better and has access to far more chargers, if you are an Octopus customer.

### **--- "2-Step Verification Has Killed This App"
The Pod Point charging experience was always hit and miss anyway but I lived with it through necessity.  The forced 2-step verification has now made me re-evaluate my charging options. I get the value of enhanced security, but SMS isn’t the answer. It is privacy invasive and not actually that secure. Had TOTP (an simple to implement industry standard) been utilised, then great. But there’s no marketing value in that.  Make SMS authentication optional please.
