Very useful app, but slowly going downhill
In recent times the iVision feature stops working a lot more often. Sometimes for no good reason at all. From what I understand it might be hitting against a memory issue. It seems more buggy and slow the larger ones library is. Maybe a better idea is to scan into a temporary database and then merge it with main database each time a user switches back to the main application.
A competing app seems to have reliable scanning, that even works better/faster in the trial period than poke genie does even when I paid to unlock unlimited scanning. It also allows one to scan before catch and get a rough idea of IVs even then.
Scanning also works poorly when one has assigned multiple tags to a mon, I suspect the colours of tags or moved position of other text is the issue here. It fails very often if the mon is lucky (always seems to fail to detect HP). It also works poorly with regional variants.
Scanning also collects enough info to calculate showcase scores, but this feature isn’t there yet. The competition has this.
Have stopped using the raid hosting feature because of the premium / paid gates. Customers are starting to tire of monthly subscriptions for everything. Local/Elite raids seem to be pushed more and more also, which is likely a good indicator that raid hosting services aren’t going to be a reliable profit source long term anyway.
Adore the naming/scan features, they are much more flexible than that of competing apps. This is the main reason I do not switch away from poke genie to be honest. Naming is tedious.
The filtering and searching features are great. However there is no history of previous searches. It is easy to write a complex search string. Inadvertently tap out of the relevant screen and lose that long and complex search.
As others have written. It would be excellent to have integration with PvP poke or similar so you can see how truly useful that “rank 1” ‘Mon actually is.
It would also be useful to be able to have the kind of fine tuning features that PvP IVs has. Where one can dial in breakpoints and bulkpoints / max hp / level and find scanned mons in one’s libraries that might be more effective than rank 1. Same with buddy boost for PvP. Right now, one has to recalculate entire library if one wants to compare rankings with buddy boost on. Couldn’t this just be separate fields in the database? Right now, we have Little, Great, Ultra rankings calculated purely based on stat product up to a max 40, 50 or 51 level. Would be nice t

This app and concept is awesome, 5 stars, thanks for creating it.
Just wish it was more reliable. Been getting the «timed out because you didn’t return to the app» bug way way way too often lately (last couple weeks). I don’t even leave the app or click anything when in a queue, it’s impossible to «return» to it, haha. Sometimes it even occurs when I’m in a lobby after sending the friend request, it just yeets me out with the same warning.
As a senior developer I also feel the need to mention that I’m confident this not a user error, sorry guys🫡
