Good for LiDAR and photogrammetry
The LiDAR scanning on iPhone works quite well and produces good results if there aren’t too many details.
Paywalled data collecting
I was excited to try Polycam but disappointed to find that they use my data to improve AI models without clear consent options. Worse yet, features are paywalled after minimal use, which isn’t communicated upfront. Transparency about data use and a toggle to opt out of data training should be standard, especially for an app that requires a paid subscription for full functionality. Needs improvement!

Works as intended.
The app works as intended and has cool features even without logging in or buying the subscription. The subscription is in my opinion too expensive for what it offers and the free version has all you really will need.
