## Pool Care by Swim University Description
Pool Care by Swim University is the pool chemical calculator that teaches you why, not just what to add. Whether you're staring at a green pool, dealing with cloudy pool water, or just trying to figure out how much chlorine to add, the app is here to help.

Enter your water test results and get a custom treatment plan in seconds. You'll know exactly what chemicals to add, how much, and in what order. It's like having a pool expert in your pocket, backed by Swim University and trusted by over 400,000 pool owners.

POOL CHEMICAL CALCULATOR
The built-in pool chemical calculator handles chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid, and salt. Every recommendation is based on your pool's volume, type, and current water test readings. No more guessing with dosage charts or doing math on the back of a chlorine bucket.

WATER TESTING MADE SIMPLE
Enter your pool water test results, and the app instantly builds a step-by-step treatment plan customized to your pool. It puts your chemicals in the right order so nothing cancels out, and tells you exactly how long to wait between additions. Pool water chemistry has never been this easy to understand.

FIX COMMON POOL PROBLEMS
Wondering why your pool turned green overnight? Or why is the water cloudy even after shocking? The app helps you diagnose and fix the most common pool problems, from pool algae and green pool water to foam on the surface, burning eyes, and water that smells like chlorine. That chlorine smell actually means you need more, not less. The app explains all of it.

WORKS WITH EVERY POOL TYPE
Whether you have an inground pool, an above ground pool in your backyard, a saltwater pool with a chlorine generator, or a hot tub on your patio, the pool chemical calculator adjusts to your setup. Enter your pool details once, and every recommendation is tailored to your water.

LEARN AS YOU GO
Most pool apps just spit out numbers. Pool Care by Swim University actually teaches you the basics of pool water chemistry as you use it. You'll learn why your pH matters, what causes algae, and how to shock a pool the right way. Over time, you won't just maintain your pool. You'll actually understand it.

TRUSTED BY 400,000+ POOL OWNERS
Swim University has been helping pool owners take care of their pools since 2006. Our YouTube channel, blog, and video courses have taught hundreds of thousands of people how to balance pool water, clear up cloudy pool water, and keep their chemistry dialed in all season long. This app puts all of that knowledge in your pocket.

SUBSCRIPTION
Pool Care by Swim University requires a subscription to access all features. Start with a 7-day free trial, then continue with an annual subscription. Your pool water chemistry doesn't have to be complicated.

## Pool Care by Swim University Reviews in United States

### *---- "In accurate, must use sliders, not worth the money"
Sliders on the app will not give you an accurate amount, so you even either have to adjust up or down. Also I have 401 for calcium hardness and this said that I need to drain my pool halfway! Calcium hardness according to some of the test strips that I have can be up as high as 450 or 500. I agreed to a seven day test., I don’t want this app and this is day one.
-- Saverbee, 2025-06-17

### ***-- "It’s a good start, but not there yet"
I love Swim University and watch all of their videos. It’s where I learned 90% of how to care for our saltwater pool. I had high hopes for this app. While it’s a good start, it’s no where near the other app that I already subscribe to. I’ll definitely revisit when they build it out more but for now I’m canceling my free trial and sticking with my current app. I will keep learning from their newsletters and videos though. Swim University is the best training out there!
-- ArabellaMichelle, 2025-06-08

### ***** "Simple"
App keeps it very easy. Make sure to enter your pool's volume when you start.
-- Jim123356, 2025-04-06

### ***-- "Just downloaded and tried … history?"
So, I tested my chemicals and added per recommendations. I waited awhile after adding, tested again but I can’t find the history of the measurements themselves from earlier in the day. Just the recommendations. Are the actual numbers that I inputted in there? Kind of thinking I should’ve waited before pulling the trigger $. Will update as needed.
-- Mantatoo, 2024-09-19

### **--- "Not great"
While the appears good initially, I quickly found out it limits your options on how to treat your water.
-- Rick10026, 2024-09-15

### **--- "Lots of math"
App seemed good when I previewed it. I subscribed and used it. It suggested to raise my pH that I use 23 pounds of a powder material— which is not available in my area. I have always used liquid muriatic acid to adjust pH. That is not an option in this app. I even checked settings to see if you could change it. The conversion of their recommended product to muriatic acid was unwieldy.
I took a sample of my water to a pool store and several of the app’s recommendations were in the ball park- two of the recommendations were way out in left field.
I have cancelled my subscription already.
