PoolMath makes swimming pool care, maintenance and management easy by tracking chlorine, pH, alkalinity and other levels to help calculate how much salt, bleach and other chemicals to add. Keep swimming in your TroubleFreePool with Pool Math.
Crystal clear algae free pool water is what Trouble Free Pool Math is committed to. Pool Math performs all the calculations you need to keep your chlorine, pH, calcium, alkalinity, and stabilizer levels balanced.
Why choose Pool Math over the others?
Other apps claim to make testing easy by using test strips and your phone's camera. Unfortunately, this is simply too good to be true. Test strips are notoriously inaccurate and end up costing you much more money in both chemicals and the tests themselves in the long run. Trouble Free Pool believes using a proper test kit is much easier, effective, and economical in the long run.
By following these calculations the pool owner achieves and maintains crystal clear water without reliance on the often unproductive advice and unneeded expense from pool stores.

If I go to FC and select SLAM, it will change the FC target to 10. My CYA is at 40, so it should actually be an FC target of 16. If I go to the CYA field, and simply click “done” (leaving the CYA at 40) the SLAM FC target will change to 16.
It’s like the target FC level for the SLAM only sees the CYA level if it’s been refreshed.
Love this app
Love this app but if possible please add hydrogen peroxide. It would be nice to know how much to use to neutralize chlorine without over neutralizing.
I had a pool party and had a little too much chlorine in my pool and added some hydrogen peroxide to neutralize the chlorine but it was too much and couldn’t get a reading on chlorine for almost two weeks. It would be nice to know how much to bring the chlorine to a safe level.
Love This App!
It’s a little challenging to use at first, but once you learn to navigate its menus, it’s easy. The app has nice features such as logging all test results, chemical additions and maintenance. You can play with adjusting your chemistry and then cancel or delete the line item to learn what will drive your CSI closer to 0.0!!! It tells you exactly how much of each chemical to add based on your pool’s profile. I just love it! Makes pool care easier and educational. Do it!
I couldn’t do it without TFP!
TFP and Pool Math have saved me countless money over the three years I have owned my pool and I am so glad I found them while I was installing my pool. Not only is the TFP method easy and simple, the pool math app makes it literally brain free work to take care of my pool with the least amount of effort. Plug in my test numbers and add what the app says to add. Boom, done. My water has stayed crystal clear and we don’t have lost swim days dealing with algae or water cloudiness. The information is invaluable along with the community forum that is always polite and non-condescending. I am a TFP girl for life.
They’re the best
Full disclosure: I’m a member of their site. Only because they have the best forum out there. If you follow their advice and listen to the feedback, this app will make perfect sense. It does all I need it to do, and I can now refer back to last year’s numbers and see the effect.
Love this app!
This is the best pool app in the App Store. I'm a loyal subscriber. One feature request to put this over the top - when adding chemicals from the tile page, would be good if there was a note field there as well. I like to add notes re what level I was targeting. We can add a note separately but that's extra steps.
Free standing hot tub
This app is good for adjusting pool chemistry and making sure my CSI is in range. However, it's lacking when it comes to my separate hot tub. We don't put stabilizer in a hot tub because it's not exposed to the sunlight.
Very Good, But Could Be a Little Better
I’m an avid user of TFP and have subscribed to this app for a few years now. I know some complain about the annual subscription model, but I find value in this app, and like supporting the devs and the website.
However, one thing that could make this app even better is a port for the Apple Watch.
If you have a pool, get this app.
I’ve owned an above ground pool for years, and have learned a lot about pool chemistry in that time. Just last year we did a new liner and switched to a slat system. Having little experience with this, I got this app - what a combination! I should have done both long ago. My workload has dropped to almost nothing, and my pool is awesomely clear. And it keeps track of what I’ve done as well as what I need to do!
Great app for pools, just ok for hot tubs
TFP has kept my pool clean as a whistle for years. However, I'm noticing a lot of areas to improve with hot tubs. Why isn't bromine a sanitizer option? Why are the recommended and ideal chem ranges the same as a pool? A hot tub is not a small pool.
