I used to love Poplin, but recently an employee named BESHANDA stole my brand new bag of tide pods (18 pack) brand new unopened and softener claiming she used all of it for 2 small loads of laundry. $30 worth of stuff stolen from me and they tried to give me $20 worth of credit. Why in the world would I go and do another order for a business that just and they have a promise that they’ll refund you is a lie. -- ThEIF EMPLOYEES!, 2026-09-10 ### *---- "Insane Fees" I live alone so I always just have one bag of laundry that’s around 11-14lbs when I get it done by a laundry pro on this app. This time around, when I was checking out, my price quote was $55 when it’s usually $30. I couldn’t figure out why, so I assumed it was a glitch or a mistake, and assured myself that once they weigh the bag they will simply just charge the $30 minimum. Nope! Apparently surge prices are a thing which I was unaware of. Paying an extra $23 just because of the area I live in is unacceptable. My order was picked up ahead of schedule, and then never delivered. I was told (after two days of begging for updates) the contractors car had been towed, then a day later it had been towed with my clothes inside, then by the end of the week that there was no contact with the contractor and my order had been stolen. Everytime I reach out (and I mean daily, sometimes hourly) I got a different AI bot response, which then sometimes went to an outsourced live chat, which then sometimes escalated to an email thread. Every one of those avenues had a repeated script of “your case is escalated and prioritized.” No one gave me a real timeline, no one could tell me what happens if a contractor steals your order. There’s no local backup, no phone support, and no one with authority to solve any problems or offer resolution. Eventually, I had to build my own itemized list of everything lost (over $1,500 worth), and was told that the best they could do was $450 cash and a $50 credit if I signed a liability waiver which requires I never publically speak about the company or my experience with them. If your order goes smoothly this app is probrably fine. But there is zero contingency plan if anything goes wrong and you’re fully at the mercy of whichever contractor you happen to get. Four days in one week, including the weekend, I sign up to get it done. Basic service, no special requests, and every time it’s canceled because no one is available. All they do is send an email saying “this is really rare and we’re working on getting new people.” There’s no way to book ahead of time or see how many people are available, you just sign up and hope your order gets matched with someone that day. I’ve loved it until my last order, when the Laundry Pro, Jabian, failed to return my comforter and 6 clothing items. They will not reimburse me for anything UNTIL I REPURCHASE ALL MY ITEMS! Their employee loses my clothes, I pay for him to not give me my clothes back, and I also have to pay for new clothes and a new blanket in order to get compensation. And if you don’t have the original receipt for every piece of clothing you give, good luck, they won’t do anything for you. DISGUSTING!!! On every use the app has stoped gunctioning. Once you place an order. This means you have no idea if your laundry is being picked up. The glitches arent due to ipdates either.
